i have my returns set to power off and power on only, mine are set via their own control panel as they are not apex so apex is on/off. also i dont turn my return pumps off when feeding, i just turn off my power heads but that is different then most but works for me as i do not like having everything cycle off and on.So, finally..... I have my display cycling the first time with water. Everything working great so far, couple minor questions.
1- is that water height in overflow box look about right for beam animal? I've played with it a bit, seems to be dialed in now.
2- when let's says, feed mode A is complete. And return pumps turn back on. Do the cycle immediately back to, let's say 80 percent( if that what they were previously running at. Or do the ramp up slowly? Or is there a way to do that?
3- what percent or programs do return pumps usually get set? Always on to set percent or vary?

by the way everything looks GREAT !!
your apex board looks amazing

you dont have to add copepods but it does not hurt to add them, once your tank is cycled is when you will add them. When would I add copepods?
Should i only treat QTs with copper and I should be fine?
I need help setting alarms for common issues I may face. How do I program these?

i dont use any copper unless i see illness, i put the fish in qt and treat with prazipro as directed and wait, if i see problems i will use copper. remember that any tank that copper is used should be for fish only and dont cross contaminate.
alarms are pretty easy to set and will be adding the line in the code for the device that you are setting for example the sensor for the high level water will have the alarm code in it.
always QT everything, copper wont hurt but in my opinion why medicate if they are not sick. copper is hard on some fish and can cause stress that in turn causes disease, really you can do what ever works for you. prazipro is a parasite killer and easy on the fish...Are email/text alarms prioritized by by list numbers? Or are they just alarmed out based of of setting them into that list?
What is prazipro?
I know copper is for fish only, I read some people copper fish for up to 6 weeks first before allowing them into display. Basically like a fail safe? Thoughts?
My L.F.S is top notch when it comes to coral and fish. And one of only three north American importers for coral from specific regions. There had picked by exporters. So these local aquarists are excellent. But you could never be to safe maybe.
I just dont want any unwanted introductions into my display systems
@scott what do you do? Only the prazipro? And for how long? In what salinity?always QT everything, copper wont hurt but in my opinion why medicate if they are not sick. copper is hard on some fish and can cause stress that in turn causes disease, really you can do what ever works for you. prazipro is a parasite killer and easy on the fish...

here is a good QT process but honestly there are many ways to do it..

just follow the directions on the bottle, its simple and effective but copper is another layer of QT and protection but i opted to only use copper and other heavy medications if i see a sign of illness, you will need to research this and make your one evaluation of how far you want to go with QT process. also everyone will have a different solution and I am not sure what the right answer is ultimately@scott what do you do?
