I have no idea what this stuff is. Some of it does look like pineapple sponges forming in the fuge, but it is starting in the main tank...(pics are of the fuge). Does anyone have any ideas??

Oh got ya, is the skimmer doing its job. Have you seen an increase of skimmer production?

Well, I don't know if you remember me or not, but I had a digitate hydroid problem a few months ago. Around the same time, I had a parasite outbreak in my tank and left it fishless from the middle of August to the beginning of November. So I've only had fish back in for a month and half or so. The skimmer is pulling heavy black stuff out.

I remember you ;) but forget the situation and thank you for reminding me as I deal with so many people daily.

I have the same stuff in an abused JBJ28 that I have that only has three anemones in it. I always thought it was some type of slime bacteria. Here it is on the back wall of the JBJ....it's also on the rocks, but with the little point-n-shoot camera I have, I can't get a decent picture.

Chemiclean is an anti bacterial the only thing I can think of so far.

If this stuff wasnt on your glass I would pull the rock out and apply peroxide let sit on it for no less than 5 minutes. It will be gone within 48 hours.
But since this is on non removable sides peroxide wont help
