Now I'm thinking of where to position the corals. Still may play with the scape but now I'm really excited!

Some kind of skimmer (any suggestions)
A par meter
Dosing system

I would love this thread to be as interactive as possible.
Since it's my first larger sizes tanks if anyone has any experience with what type of power heads, Dosers, etc or any advice i would love to get some input!

Instead of doing a black background you could always let coral grow over the back. I did GSP in my biocube. I think I am going to do some encrusting SPS in my 180.

The lid on your sump has a clear spot ready for you to put a small light right on it. I feel like you could get more useful light if it were more over the cutout.

Are they truly effective.
Living in Florida we get those crazy storms every so often that knock the power out, so I'm looking over options for backups.
So far I really like these. I currently have an mp10

I don't have any experience with it but I know ecotech makes some pretty decent stuff.

Two weeks in
The silver slide is still decomposing which is nasty lol
But I'm seeing the Algae bloom start to happen as well as hundreds of little pods roaming the glass.

I bought my water test kit and everything is perfect so I added about ten blue leg hermit crabs to assist in getting rid of the silver slide and working on some algae.

Patience is truly a virtue. I felt like I was truly tested at the lfs today, but I walked out with only water a test kit and the crabs so good for me haha

Would you guys say it would be safe for me to add my corals in a week or so as long as my parameters are in line?

A little disappointed the tests read perfectly, and I still lost two of the ten hermits from yesterday's introduction

I'm considering how I'm going to take apart my old tank. And start the transition to this one.

removing the corals are not going to be fun.

Please ignore the dirtiness of the tank! But have any of you had experience with a green tipped leather?

Not that anything is wrong
But I've been noticing a pattern.

Occasionally he will fold up and withdraw all of his tentacles. It usually lasts for a couple of hours. But once he's done he opens up even larger!

He seems to have exploded in growth recently and it seems to happen every time right after he shrinks.

Has anyone ever noticed this type of pattern before?

They are in!
Last night the long and arduous transfer began!
Started at about 7 pm and didn't get done till about 3 am
The acclimation and transfer of all the corals fish and inverts was finally completed!
I didn't do any glueing of corals yet because I want to get a good par reading first, but to say I'm beyond happy and excited would be an understatement.
