Urgh seriously.

I did a quick search and there they are - Stinker Stations. Seems like that is unique to Idaho. Logo kinda looks like Pepe Le Pew. Ha! Interesting brand concept.

This entire thread just cracks me up! Little pee boys and now Stinker stores. What's next? :D:D:D:D:D

What was Radar's drink (who was from Idaho I think).....grape Neehi. (if I'm spelling that right)...I bet you can get that at Stinker's

Hello ,

Lol well I’m so glad some love my thread, I hope It makes people smile. I have to admit lol the name piggly wiggly just cracks me up like no other. That name is adorable, lol it could be a great nick name :).

I’m not sure what Radar drinks, (isn’t he on the th show Mash, I think), but Idaho is very strange and odd state. I went to school in Seattle, at university of Washington, and that state and city are so amazing. Then I was drugged senseless into coming back to Boise. Urgh.

But lol Instead of finding pee in my sump like before, yesterday I found Lego Batman, and other star wars figures in my sump. I had a strange noise coming from my protein skimmer and sure enough Batman was not strong enough to defeat the massive suction of my protein skimmer. Poor Batman had a painful death. :)

Yes, Radar O’Reilly from M.A.S.H. (Gary Burghoff). I think everyone did like Radar. :)

I'm thinking I would only market my store with that name if I were selling fine French cheese.

Of course, there is no such thing as fine French cheese. The French are horrible at cheese making but are marketing geniuses. Moldy cheese that smells like old gym socks? ;Yuck If you were cultured, you would like it... you low class scum. ;Troll

Hello,

@Brew12 lol you crack me up, I’m not sure I have ever had fine French cheese lol. Most of the cheese I get is from Albertsons, or Wal-mart which is rare. Probably the most expensive cheese I have had is from Pepperidge farms which was pretty good and badly expensive. I am curious how France does with corals and other saltwater items. I’m curious to know if they have a delicacy in that section.

lol old gym socks, hmm that’s a pretty vivid description to me. I can see it now these poor abused socks, sitting in a dark wet corner of the locker room. They have been there for 10 years and still are camouflaged by there black mold spores. Nobody can find them, but they have a smell that makes a skunk run away and hide.

Hello,

So I definitely need a consensus my friends on something. I had a friend over in which she brought her bf along that was a first meeting. (He wasn’t as polite and nice as I thought but oh well). Anyway he also does a saltwater reef, and liked two of my corals a lot. In which he bugged my all night and offered me money to take them home tonight. In which I responded as to I have to sleep on it. So he wanted my Aussie lobo, and my multi colored trac, in which the price he offered to me threw me off. He said since their every day common corals they are not worth much, but he would give me extra because he is nice.

I have had these for awhile, but they were much smaller. When I purchased them, it was 145 for the trac, and 75 for the lobo. I’m certain the lfs marked them up etc, but he offered me 15 for the lobo and said that was generous, and 40 for the trac and he said that was very generous. So 55 for both and I just don’t think that was correct. I have a war face scoly and he said he would do that one also for 50 to add to his collection. Those are normally like 150 I have thought.

Am I wrong or just greedy help:)

Ops here are the pics of said corals

If they were common everyday corals, why does he want them so badly and had to have them right then? Personally, I would tell him I slept on it and decided to keep the corals. It sounds like he was just trying to take advantage of your good nature. Maybe steer clear of this guy. Just my 2¢ anyway.

You don't need a consensus. It doesn't matter what you paid for them or what they are can be sold for anywhere else.

The only thing that matters is what they are worth to you. Obviously, they are worth more to you than he offered. Keep them.

@Brew12 and @Fin sorry forgot to add photos but there now. I always try to be very nice and sincere, but to me they are worth more or at least what I paid for. I would never take a loss on something, and those I can’t frag. Well not that I know of. :)

^^^ What they said. That price for a Trachyphyllia would be for my close friend if I did not want it. Absurd that he seemed to bully you.

EDIT. He probably would have sold it too.

I'd steer clear also. I hope your bf is a good judge of character. You should go see his tank next. Then you can see if he's full of crap. He should have been a little more respectful in your house IMO.

Hello,

Sorry he isn’t my bf I’m very single. It was my friends bf, I invited them over for dinner. When I invited her it was suppose to be a girls night, and she brought him along which caught me off guard. But I don’t think I can part with them they mean a lot to me. I don’t need money, so that’s not much of an issue. They have thrived very good In my tank, so I would worry myself sick if I thought for a second they wouldn’t be in a good home.

I paid $20 for my yellow lab to get her from a shelter. You could offer me $10k for her, and I wouldn't give her up. I may not have the same emotional attachment to a coral as I do my dogs but the concept is the same. The only thing that matters is what they are worth to you.

Even if he would offer you twice what you paid it shouldn't matter. If you want to take a less emotional approach than my dog example, ask yourself this. What would you be willing to pay for that coral, not what you did pay. If he isn't offering substantially more than you are willing to pay, keep the coral.

Hello,

@Brew12 lol your dog sounds adorable so need to see pics,
And that’s sincerely amazing that one can’t be bought with money. We need more people like you, that realize money is not everything in this world. Curious as to what your dogs name is. I had a yellow lab named Tarzan, was my favorite dog in the world. After he passed, I never had the heart to get another dog, which sparked my interest in fish.

As of the moment I’m pretty set on keeping these corals, just because I really like them a lot. I just have a hard time saying no to people on certain things, and always try to be extremely kind and professional.

I am clearly a skeptic (and twice your age), but consider this:

People may sense that you are a person who finds it difficult to say no. Chances are if you feel uncomfortable in a specific instance, this is what is happening. Your gut is telling you something is amiss. Trust that gut.

Honestly, if I were you, I would probably even be a little disappointed in your friend for bringing a surprise male guest to your intended girls night. That would be a little on the rude side to me. Maybe have a little talk with her about etiquette and suggest that she at least ask if she can bring a guest next time.
