Water parameters were a tad off when i tested last...nitrates 2, phosphates .25 api, cal 330, mag 950, alk 6, temp 78-80 depending on time of day, salinity 1.023

I am running a chinese black box with the whites at 15% and the blues on 85%.

I think thats it let me know if theres any info i left put...i also have a small frag of zoas that are wilting as well. I have been doing some research and every tank and situation is so different i figured i would just see what sort of input i could get for my specific tank. Thanks in advance. [emoji482]

How often do you test? Parameters are definitely low. Gotta bring those numbers up a little. That is likely your issue.

That test was 2 days ago when i first received the calcium and mag test. How do you suggest to proceed?

Are you dosing? How often do you do water changes? If you are not dosing alkalinity, calcium and magnesium, then you will likely need to increase water changes. Not familiar with the light, so I can't comment on them but you may need more whites. Like 40:60 white to blue.

Your tank is still really new it's just settling in during the first 6 months I made the same mistake my wall hammer died they are a really touchy coral mine lasted a month and shriveled to nothing. See if the lfs will trade it back or hold it for you. For a couple more months.

I recently started doing weekly water changes about 10% and by recent i mean i have only done 2...i have never dosed anything before never really thought about it. Would it be the white lights that promote growth n such?

Turn down the blues a bit. That's a lot of light. Try 50 to 65%

And +1. Young tank. Sometimes it happens.

Your params are low. Bring up cal., alk, and salinity. Lower blue to 40-50%. Give it a bit of time to acclimate. What salt brand are you using?

Make sure it gets moderate flow too. My hammer doesn't like it when the flow is too low.

Do you think lowering my blue light percentages will help as well? I have noticed you post alot about lights and such is why i ask you specifically.
Yes it will. That light is quite powerful.

If you like , tell me what brand and how high over the tank it is. And how deep the tank is.

On the cheap you can use a Luxmeter to dial it in. Most torches and hammers seem it be in the low and med light corals.

Are you running chemical filters like purigen gfo or carbon?
Or VIbrant ?

Its a Viparspectra and its about 12 inches off the water. Tank is a 40breeder about 18 inches deep i think.
