WARNING: Avoid latest AOS updates!

Lol

Just to be clear, though, I won't actually have access to anything inside your network... I'll only be able to see a cloud copy of your latest Apex reports online. :)
That's what the Korean kid said to me when we were playing Starcraft and then he drained my bank account!

Seriously though, it's a nice support architecture, anyone who has added Neptune Support to their list of users for a support ticket knows what I'm talking about and is perfectly safe; local data pushes to cloud source, support views cloud source. Safe and secure.

I did sales for enterprise software once upon a time, which means I'm technically deviant, dangerous and talk like a smart butt.

edit: hahaha it actually changes my swears and didn't just replace it with hearts!

I don't know if this has a correlation, but I will put it here:

Last couple days I am having an issue with both tridents. One on each of our systems. I tried to calibrate with new reagents and since get Test B fail every time.
I am well versed in the workings of the trident and this morning disassembled and cleaned out every line and the internal manifold.

Still both tridents I can't calibrate, get Test B fail. I find it odd that it is two different tridents getting the same error.

And yes, I have factory reset, primed etc. many times also.

My results for both are now 0 for calcium and Magnesium.
Exactly this!!

Just to clarify, you're also suffering from a trident issue after the update?
I thought it was just me cause it’s not out the norm for the trident to do weird stuff.. normally a quick cleaning fixes it and mines back online but I haven’t tried to calibrate it and now I’m scared too lol.. Joe is trying to help with your issue but sent me a message he don’t have time to chase everyone’s problem we need to go through support! He’s taking the over dose as a 911

This is where I am at. Now it won’t test anything but alk. 1 I’d suspect a mechanical issue. Not both doing the same thing.

Also every few hours they are “Initializing”

How are the trident(s) getting power? Also are you running the standard built in schedules or are you running a custom?

I would look at your pinch valves here (though you should consider talking to neptune customer support about this). Have you seen any liquid in the tray?

I've had small line leaks cause them to rust shut in the past. Ended up replacing the part.

I did a full maintenance on both today. Checked all pinch valves, blew out all the lines. Where both are having the same issue, I sort of knew it wasn't the usual suspects.

I'm pretty confidence it has something to do with the update.

Just figured I’d add a hopefully at least marginally helpful data point.

I have never had virtually any issue with apex software/hardware, BUT I always wait to update. I have not done the new update for this reason. Have not seen any issues.

Take a chance!!

What I’ve noticed in the past is that missing data/graphs/logs is the faulty sd card issue. Not every single case, but a high enough percentage to gamble. A new card is $10+/-.
Have you swapped one, how do you get the card out? It seems like it is locked in. I found a video, but he couldn't get the card out either.

Theres a detailed thread on here somewhere. If I can find it I'll post it. There was a trick. I dont remember if it was a clip that slides up/down or what.

edit/. here you go

That’s my issue.. mine is ran off the wallwart power supply but I only use my dos for bacto balance and all for reef… I don’t see any safe haven in my scenario. Rrrrr
Why can’t you put in on and off commands for certain times? Say it’s doing 100 ml at 20 ml per min have it turn on for 5 min and then off. Just in the interim until they figure out how to fix this.

That's not rude at all! I've never gotten any official badging or anything on R2R, so you're right to be curious. I'm one of the Neptune Systems software engineers, and currently the main guy investigating the DOS overdosing reports.

Typically, I don't ask for access directly, but in this case I think it's important to just cut to the chase as quickly as possible. You don't have to give me access at all... you could go through Neptune Support and wait for me to check your Apex through our official support channels. The only difference is the time it takes for me to dig in.

You now have badges!! :)

I guess I’m lucky….. Being dumb, and not seeing much at all, I clicked the update apex notification on home assistant (smart home that has a app/plugin to communicate with my apex). Immediately the lights and pumps kicked off, indicating to me the apex was rebooting. Ugh. I totally thought I was upgrading the app/plugin for home assistant, not my apex. I didn’t even know it was possible to update an apex through home assistant. I figured it was read only. Well, now I know. Anyway, all is good. Knock on wood. The most recent update hasn’t had any ill effect here. I do not have the dos qd or trident np though, only the og versions.
