Warning: Use Vibrant at your own risk

Yes I only used it in very specific cases previously and would generally not recommend it because you just get left with high nutrients that will keep building up due to no algae being there to absorb them.

It's kind of funny that some people are calling me an "apologist" when if you searched my post history you'd find I generally didn't recommend it. All because I dared to question the lynch mob.

I think things get lost in translation so to speak and nuance gets lost. Hard to keep track of who said what and why.

I also took the you do you comment to be more benign and not necessarily calling you an apologist.

Okay, if you're just going to be obstreperous and lazy, there is no point on further engagement. but a demonstrable incomplete grasp on the facts in this conversation at least demonstrates that you should probably not be chiming in on this thread without further educating yourself.

So you want me to show you the bottle where is says 3.5% is other ingredients? You claim to have used the product, but you don't have a bottle of it?

And even with the data I've found since the first conversation, nothing came close to justifying your hysteria and remarks that people wouldn't know how to dose without the EPA regulations, or the other things you were claiming. Which again, I find remarkable since you knew the dose was the same as algaefix already.

Maybe drop some links to define all those big words so nobody needs to to put the work in to know what they mean. They just might come back and accuse you of misrepresenting them... ;)

No point in arguing between ourselves when everyone should really be demanding UWC to stop hiding the test results.

I wouldn't count on it. I don't have a link, but if you want to skim threw 50 pages on 2 different threads, there are more tests that have been done that removes most doubt in terms of what it is.

I would be surprised if they come back with any tests.

I didnt ask about that - lets keep it simple - I asked a simple question - not to re-review the entire thread. I appreciate your answer - you can't tell concentration from the NMR results alone - is that what you're saying? That was the question.
That is correct. NMR only tells you what not how much. Once you know the what you can use the other data to find out how much since you know can figure out the density.

That is correct. I can't say that Vibrant killed my corals but I also can't say it didn't either. I posted in my thread during that time that a lot of my corals lost their color and seemed pale, etc. This was before I lost them. Whether it was Vibrant or not, l I know what happened. Something disrupted the biome and starved out the corals. I was there. I witnessed it and knew what was going on.

I have used Chemiclean and Fluconazole many of times with multiple tanks in the past with zero losses. However, I used Vibrant once and lost a couple frags and a red dragon colony. A year later I dosed Vibrant and my corals were not looking good again.

Again, I will say that yes, I cannot say Vibrant is the only reason why my corals died. But just like that I cannot say it didnt cause issues just based on how my corals looked.

The fact is, I used Vibrant and my corals looked dry, pale, and starved with color loss leading up to my crash and I have every right to review this product and share my experience.
Same here. I am now at around 100ml of 2-part daily. Was around 50ml a couple of weeks ago before the switch. I am a believer now! I put the Aquatic Life hybrid up over my frag tank with blackboxes supplementing blues at 5% just for the added POP. Running 2 Blue+/Coral+ and I am noticing colors on pieces that were never there before. Also, most pieces are encrusting daily.

Yes, you can review any product you want. The post above is an example of some of your posts after using Vibrant. The one above was over a month after you stopped using it.

Again, I'm not saying that Vibrant wasn't the cause, or a factor, but posts such as the one referenced leave doubt that it was the Vibrant that caused the problem IMO.

Still waiting for @UWC to post their findings or start issuing apologies and refunds.

Bubble algae. That's nice for you and others to say not to use it now. However, when I used this it was not addressed like that. Vibrant was pushed HARD that it was a reef safe algae eating bacteria supplement. I dosed the recommended dosage and followed the directions exactly as described. I also monitored nutrients daily. I never had a test come in with high nutrients.

To be clear. Are you suggesting I could have lost corals because I used a product designed to kill the alage but once the algae died then it killed my corals? If so, that isn't a good solution to algae if you ask me.

And? That post was before my corals started to go south. What are you trying to prove? That Vibrant didn't have a long term affect on my corals? How do you know that?

This thread isn't about Chemiclean, Fluconazole, etc. It is about Vibrant. I am going to discuss Vibrant and what I experienced while using it. I can't help if people read and perceive things differently than what I am writing. Again, this is why I am NOT saying that Vibrant is the reason why I lost my corals. If I ever did then I will edit anything to not point the finger directly at Vibrant because I can't prove it either way.

I've been saying not to use it for years. It works, however having algae is actually a good thing because it removes nutrients. That algae is growing because you have nutrients. To be more exact, the biggest reason that algae is growing is likely due to imbalances in nutrient levels. I've been in this hobby for 12 years, but I took a detour for a few years in freshwater. In freshwater, I used a method that would elevate the nutrients and yet no algae would grow, only the plants. However, when my nutrients would get unbalanced, then algae would grow and my plants would struggle. Especially common when 1 nutrient would bottom out.

Would you like to see my 29g anemone tank? It is full of GHA and I keep it that way on purpose.

I was more asking a question. But what I am saying is that you had nutrients in your system already, which is what caused the need for vibrant. When that algae dies, it will just release more nutrients into your system. This can cause a spike in nutrients which can cause the issues you describe in more senstive coral.

Yes I understand all of that. That is why I responded to you that I tested daily and did not notice a spike in nutrients.

Maybe a question for moderators! Is there a way to request of “ remove certain members” when reviewing threads? I am getting so tired of reading pages of people bickering like my little kids just to get a real meaningful update on the topic!

You can search the thread for posts by specific members, ie. Taricha, Randy Holmes Farley, etc.

I find that hard to believe, but I guess it's possible. Weekly should be more than enough, if not longer.

At any rate, depending on the amount of algae that is dying, it can cause nutrient spikes. Cyano seemed to be the biggest side effect, each time I used it I always got cyano after. I assume from a spike in phosphates.

For a senstive coral, that can be a big deal. I personally don't keep coral like that, thus I did not have issues. A more sensitve coral could.

I don't think it would be right to remove members from the thread but I do see people just not letting go of their arguments for daaaaaaaays and just making this thread a cluster.

I would really like to see someone (best if one of the chemists do it) post up a video breaking down the NMR tests. It seems that is what it would take for a lot of people to understand what is happening here. I vote to repost that video summarizing the tests about every second page. There has been way too much discussion just going around in circles.

You can block people so you don't see their messages, but it will still show that they posted something, and you'll still see all the replies to it.

AKA: worth very little.

I agree but was asking on how I can view it. Not remove them! And got a good way to do it from shwareefer

No point in arguing between ourselves when everyone should really be demanding UWC to stop hiding the test results.
I'm beginning to think UWC's silence (not even an update saying they're still testing) means one of two things...
1. They know the jig is up and they're trying to figure out what to do.
2. They let the production of vibrant totally get away from them and they're trying to figure out what to do.

Neither scenario is good for them. Silence is even worse.

Just a friendly reminder that "Be nice" is key part of R2R. I realize that this is (appropriately) an emotional topic for many people, however please remember to focus on the problem and not the people.
