We all hate them, Dinos! I have a cure...

That will not bother my sticks ? And do I just follow the instructions on the box

nah. sticks will be fine.

you need a skimmer though.

ALTHOUGH!!!!!
i did treat my tank with it and did a 150 gallon wc after the application and no harm befell me.

a skimmer would have made it easier though.

What causes this type to show itself ?

you skimming all the phyto that would have eaten it first

/burrrrn

man i am on a roll!

disclaimer: this is just an observation and isnt a nail in skimmertech's coffin. i could have completely made it up much like acropower making your sticks instant rainbows.

So you are saying if my skimmer was not on this would not be happening

lotta life you are grabbing imo.
i will say this.

my cyano and ugly crap stuff went away when i did away with my skimmer.

maybe other bacteria ate what was wrong. idk. could be purely anecdotal.

What would you say my best action should be ?
By the way I cleaned out the reactor as you told me and all is good.
Send me some and if it confirmed cyanobacteria than my h2o2 treatment will take it out :)
OR if you have access to a scope (2500x power) send me some pictures.

But don't you have it again now ? And you don't run a skimmer

In their second Video on the 800G, Vivid Aquarium recommended Bakers Yeast. 1/4 tsp/400 G water/day for several days. I'm in Day 3 and I am starting to see improvements. They said they use it in all tanks now.

It will be hard for me to send you some my work hrs are crazy but I will try. Not really the chem guy so if I do buy a scope I will have to learn from the beginning

i have dinos. some algae.
i didnt get cyano until i started dosing peroxide.

i know. completely against the grain. but peroxide isnt killing it. i have some sort of imbalance dosing h202.

otherwise i let mothernature do all the hard work.

No disrespect but I trust these guys more than vivid plus if Boomer don't understand it I'm not doing it.

pepsi challenge for those of you dosing peroxide.

how much skimmate do you grab?

my estimates: none. zero. zilch.

I had this before but it always go away when I change out my rodi filters I did so already the only thing I did not change was the DI will change that this week before I try anything else
