Weekend Reefing Plans

Doing a partial sand cleaning and add some more sand then a small water change (20gal).
Cool cool. Yeah, I'm refilling my RO/DI storage and mixing up a fresh batch of SW now, too. Weekly 25 gal WC manana.

washing my filter socks and cleaning out my detritus infested sump.. my nitrates and phosphates keep bottoming out and probably due to all that’s trapped down there(and of course corals growing meaning more consumption)

Yup, I have a bucket of socks ready for the washer myself. I did my annual sump clean out a few weeks ago. If you haven't already, you should invest in a mini shop vac that attaches to 5 gallon buckets. I picked a Craftsman one up from Home Depot and it has been a game changer.

And when you get annoyed at it or if it starts churning up trouble you can call it a wrassehole ;)
I call them all wrassholes all the time! Especially Liberace/Jaws.. whatever you wanna call him.

Shop vac that attaches to a bucket ?

I use my massive shop vac and wheel
It to dump when it’s full .

I try to keep all of my aquarium stuff as aquarium use only, so my giant shop vac only violates that rule when I flood the basement with RO/DI.

I have flooded my kitchen once with rodi
Forgot to turn the water off . Woke up at 4:30 am to get coffee before work and stepped in 3” of water on the floor .
Not a good start to say the least .

I haven't done it in awhile, and added flood sensors as an added fail safe. Still, I'm an idiot and I know that it is just a matter of time before I do it again.

If all it takes is a water spill or forgetting on makes someone an idiot I think we are all guilty of at least once .
Man brain is overrun with too many projects .

Oh, no. No, no, no... Generally speaking, I'm an idiot. The floods are just a bonus.

Assuming because you’re a girl you have never had a water spill or forgot to turn off the rodi ?
I fill my buckets in my kitchen sink. If they ever overflow, it goes right down the drain.
So... nope!

Gonna clean the front glass and then do last week's water change that I've been too lazy to do.

I'm upgrading to a red sea max nano peninsula in a few weeks so I'm also trying to research how to aquascape in it, how to transfer my livestock, how a cycle works if I transfer all my live rock, etc. Very nerve wracking stuff tbh

I have my container now sitting in a storage tote . I know it will
Take over a hour to fill and for the most part . While they’re filling 1 don’t get Into anything else

I learn quick from mistakes and generally don’t do the same thing twice .

I cannot, however, say that the roomie has not done it.... I will even fill a pitcher (needed to fill 2 of the ATOs) and leave the pitcher turned, that if it does overflow, it will pour into the sink or into the bucket already in the sink. I hate cleaning up spills, so I do my best not to make any.
When you're a nurse and work with chemotherapy, therapeutic phlebotomies (lots of blood), and other bodily fluids, you learn very quickly to prevent spills of any sort... liquid, solid, or powder.
