When did the reefi uno 2 pro release?
About 3 years ago. The updated one is 2.1. The difference is an updated firmware and the new designed 90 degree "reeflector" as Reefi calls it. You can update the firmware on the 2.0 pretty easy and you can purchase the new 90 reeflector making the 2.0 into the 2.1. My vote was meant to be the 2.0 but I hit the one below it same company though....lol. The drawback to most point source lights is its one angle of lighting so multiple units or supplemental lighting will eventually be needed. The reasons I like this light are the thoughtful design that went into the build, the power capability, and it cost about half as much as an xr30 or other "like" light and has more power.

Why is it considered a point source light? Is that similar to a spotlight? Wouldn’t the reflector change that?

Well a bit of an "elitest" pole. Jk...
No inclusion of lesser lights though perfectly fine for lower light or smaller tanks.
Fluval
Current
Beamswork
21ledusa bars and spots
Host of Chinese stick light

Bigger missed lights
Illumagic
Popbloom
Micmol
AquaMaxx ( Micmol)
Large collection of Geisemann led only lights
Reef Factory
Jabao
GNC Bluray
MMLed (australia)

Ect .
I'm sure I missed some as well.
Blink and the Chinese will invent another brand.

So a list of "others"....

To some extent yes. Getting lighting to wrap around the corals is not easy with one "plane" of lighting. This goes for pretty much all lights. I was not saying this is relegated to only reefi, Kessils, radion, photon, all of them will benefit from multiple angles of light. This can be accomplished with multiples of the same fixture or a supplementary light source.

I have a mixed system of lights brought over from 2 other tanks I had. ReefBreeders Photon v2 32” with 24” ReefBreeders Lumen Bar Blue/UV attached and ReeFi Uno 2.0 on my 90.

I wouldn’t consider this pole elitist. I am personally considering getting the a8se lights.

I see so with several lights over the tank is this problem mitigated/resovled?

Sorry you missed the jk ..just kidding
part.
Actually the amount of choices is quite large once you put the lights on the market share edges or those not really talked about due to any number of factors

The 2.1 also comes with an even beefier PSU that can be daisy chained to run 2 fixtures (though, with limited wattage on each), as well as a thicker glass.

Pretty sure both can be purchased separately to upgrade the 2.0.

if appropriately placed and angled, mitigated. I dont think it can ever be 100% resolved. Corals grow and cause shading to other corals and themselves.

I have almost had them all, but Reefi Pro 2.0/2.1 is my favorite light to date! Provided fast growth and deep, rich colors of all corals. Initially used 120 degree reflectors and just purchased new 90 degree reflectors. These lights are POWERFUL! They will grow with you.

Close second is Reefled 90. Spectrum is beautiful, corals love it. Beautiful shimmer lines is what keeps bringing me back.

When did the reefi uno 2 pro release?
He is actually selling 2.1 now. Bigger power supply is the big difference. And the glass shield is thicker.

It was fairly recent. I went from 8 hydra 32 hd to 6 reefi 2.1 in June. It added almost 175 par at 30 inches deep.
