messing with my light settings too much. i really need to set it and uninstall the app... and change the login on my computer...

sometimes i like it bluer, sometimes i don't mind more white, i was going with everything jacked way up and then white at like 10%, that was a nice spectrum, but with little white my ice fire echinata is like a bland darkish color.

i emailed J's reef on youtube to send me his settings and so now it's a super long lighting period with a nice mix of mid day high white, late afternoon more of the blue with 10% white and then all blue evening.

having $100,000 to spend on this hobby is my biggest weakness. lol.

I actually did see a fellow reefer custom acrylic square 350-500g (I dont remember) 6ftx6ft tank with a "behind-the-wall sump room" that looked like NASA. Tank was in his basement as the highlight to his full oak bar that looked like you were in a high end restaurant. Flipping amazing basement

All equip, plumbing was carefully planned out and installed to ultra high pro looks. all electronics had their own wall. again it looked like NASA.

He said he got a big inheritance and just went for it.

I asked it the whole tank system cost more than $60k.... he bent over laughing

I wanted to take pics but he wouldnt allow it. as I walked to the car, he followed and said, "please dont go telling other local reefers about my setup. I dont want to have to deal with thieves in the middle of the night"

IM TOO COOL FOR MY SHOES

You gotta wear shades.

Ok traveled back from 1986 to the present.

Biggest weakness, knowing when to stop. Sometimes i get ahead of myself and change things because its new, someone else’s success, or because i want to attempt something new. Bad idea with reefing [emoji23]

I’m on a budget. I buy baby corals and need to wait 30 years to actually see them in my tank.

I would say it is a tie between lighting and flow right now. Since I upgraded and added T5 to my Radions I have not been stoked on the light. Flow, on the other hand has been my nemesis for going on 4 years! I either have too much or not enough....I want that relaxing wave back and forth motion, I got it once on accident but it was too much for my 120...:(:mad:o_O

This... I don't test nearly as often as I should and this has lead to issues.

I have two major weakness (or is that 3 now). Shiny objects syndrome and not thinking ahead.
Lots of used gear sitting in boxes that I should never got in the first place, regret gotten the lights I have. Trident being hard to get has likely saved me. Heck I have a seneye in the box and have never opened it... I have no idea what my par is lol.

Not thinking ahead, for example. I love diamond gobies, always wanted one, they are awesome and fun.... but it means I can never have the corals that are cool to me on the sandbed or clams or anything like that. So which one would I rather have...

Hey if you want to sell anything let me know?

I can't stop tinkering either, I always want to make adjustments to my light and flow even knowing they're fine, I just wonder if they could be a little better..

Water changes. That’s my big weakness.

I absolutely hate doing them, and every water change seems to destabilize my tank and irritate it’s inhabitants. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong... but often I just choose to not do it...

One word...SALES!

Just when I say I'm done buying stuff, I see a local sale or live sale and can't resist.

Mine:
Adding additives to the system often

Not doing regular water changes not that i need them

No dip or quarantining of my new arrivals

Missing water changes. I know my tank needs them. I know my tank suffers without them. I know if I don't do it another one of my very few SPS will die...

And I still skip them and say, I'll do it tomorrow.

I tinker with my tank too much, still after all these years can’t resist to add a new gadget or try changing a parameter...

You should check out the Red Sea reefer thread. Now those guys can stop tinkering. Nothing but pictures of gear. Barely any corals.
