Hello, I really want to add a yellow fish to my 75 gallon (4 foot long) in the future that's a show piece. Yellow tangs are off the list because of how rare they are now and that most people think that they need a 5 foot tank. The other day, I discovered the one spot foxface which is listed as ok for 70 gallons of LA and thought that I finally found something. But after some research, people think they need a 120 gallon tank. I don't really want a yellow coris wrasse. Are there any hidden gems out there?

1. Silver belly wrasse (Halichoeres leucoxanthus)
2. Yellow Tang (Be warned- they get big and aggressive)
3. Radiant wrasse (Halichoeres iridis - It has some yellow on its face and my female is the first thing I see because of the pop of yellow)
4. Almost any of the flasher wrasse - They’re all yellow or red and easy to care for with that constant burst of colour when they flash
5. Copperband butterflyfish (These are harder to keep and not really yellow- instead more orange)
6. Pricey but the Pintail Fairy Wrasse (They look amazing under the right lights and the main body is yellowish gold with pink all over it it’s stunning in person)
Also, remember:
A 4x2x2 has the diagonal foot print of 5’, I have a magnificent Foxface in my 90g (120g if you include the sump) and he’s thriving - he’s a nice 5” with 9 other fish. I have had him in this tank for a year and my plan is to go for a 5x2x2 next time I upgrade.

Sunrise dottyback. Beautiful fish, but has some attitude:

Get the foxface!
+1 they’re filled to the brim with personality!!
I mean, mine just hangs out and follows the bristletooth tang around then changes colour to sleep and swim.

Yellow clown goby may nip at SPS polyps, but if you get one that doesn't, fish don't get much more yellow than that. Not much of a show piece, though. Maybe if you trained it to carry a magnifying glass around, pointed at itself.
Never seen that. A bonded pair will nest on the sps.

does it have to be all yellow? Flameback angelfish is nice!

How about a longnose butterflyfish? They are one of the easier butterflies to keep but butterflies are completely loaded with personality. Smart fish.

Watchman goby.
Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone actually enjoy their watchman goby? Mine is a grumpy little creep who I see less than once a week. I just chuck some food into his cave because I'm afraid he'll starve.

Here’s my radiant under blues, Her body does have two nice parallel red stripes - one above the anal fin and one below the dorsal fin

And my Magnificent Foxface (Siganus magnificus) - The snout of my CBB just creeping in is perfect haha.
