Alright thanks guys! I'll get a one spot foxface or maybe a longnose butterfly fish but got to research it first

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone actually enjoy their watchman goby? Mine is a grumpy little creep who I see less than once a week. I just chuck some food into his cave because I'm afraid he'll starve.
I had one in my prior tank. He wasn't active, but he was always visible, perched at the entrance to his burrow. He had a pistol shrimp- did yours? They seem to be more confident with a pistol shrimp. A yellow watchman and a tiger pistol wouldn't be super showy, but would be a nice option for this tank, or for most tanks.

I will get some sort of sand sifting goby eventually

canary blenny; captive bred, reasonably priced, colorful and swim in open areas

He doesn't have a pistol shrimp -- I didn't know they were pals! I have a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp, and it doesn't sound like the pistols are good tankmates with other shrimp. :(

Tiger and candycane pistol shrimp are perfectly safe with other tankmates, unless the other tankmate shoves itself into the pistol's burrow (which a cleaner shrimp won't do), or the pistol is starving. About the only thing they'll kill is maybe the occasional worm.

You should look 'em up. Shrimpgobies and pistol shrimp have a symbiotic relationship. The nearly-blind pistol shrimp relies on the goby to watch for danger, keeping an antenna on the goby whenever it leaves the burrow, and digs a burrow for them both to live in. The watchman will flick its tail if it sees danger, warning the shrimp to hide, before hiding itself. Get a pistol shrimp for your guy, chuck in a big handful of tiny shell/rubble bits for it to build with, and watch them go. Pistol shrimp are stunningly good architects, even though they can't really see. Their claw mechanism is also fascinating.

Foxface rabbit fish

be warned . Touching its spines hurts like nothing comparable .
It’s apparently a bee sting but around 2x worse - I mean, their spines are venomous no matter if it’s the dorsal or anal. Mine when I got it jumped and the person bagging it got it by his side and plopped it into the bag stress free for both of them.

By the way my tank is 75 gallons and 4 foot long if you guys didn’t catch that. Also going to be a reef. Planning on getting a one spot foxface

One of the best- Yellow coris wrasse
canary blenny
yellow watchman goby
lemon butterfly
yellow cubicus boxfish

I can do a yellow boxfish in a 75g? Live aquaria lists them as way up

Considering yellow boxfish get 18" long and release poison when stressed, no, you cannot put one in a 75g. Not for very long.
