What are the most underrated fish?

Orange spot rabbit fish. Peaceful, mostly fearless and eats from my hand. Eats hair algae and any fish foods. Hes big now at 9".

That pipefish looks awesome! I've never seen one like that!

Those are the types of fish I search for. I try not to buy anything common. That is a Janss pipefish. They are supposed to be hard to care for but this one is maybe 4 years old so far and in general most pipefish only live five or six years so we will see.

How about just a plain old firefish? It's cheap. Every Petco has them. But it really is a pretty and unique fish.

Hes plectranthias inermis, part of the anthias subfamily in serranidae, acts like a hawkfish, but is more peaceful.

Damsels. I know there is a lot of haters out there but I have 5 in my tank and they all are model citizens. I have a azure, a yellow tail, a blue, a talbot and a three stripe. They add a lot of color, hardy, and cheap.

I have one of those, great little fish.

I also like these.

But my absolute favorite is my clingfish. Now those have arguably the most vivid colors which just Pop. ;Smuggrin

I agree with you. I have a fuzzy dwarf, and he’s my favorite fish that I’ve owned. Bold, personable, and very entertaining once they get comfortable.

I am so sorry i didn’t even see this reply!! Unfortunately I have got rid of my lionfish due to his big size and not having space atm for a bigger tank!!.. but yeah 100% lions are my fave!

I love lions! I want to keep them again...but they'd eat everything in my tank. LOL
sorry didn’t see your reply.. yeah I loved mine.. wish I could of tried finding mine a mate.. would of been amazing having little lions around haha.. but I had to let mine go as he was out growing my tank!! Only good thing is my nitrates won’t be hitting roof anymore!!! Lol

I loved my Fowleri tang before my tank breakdown. He would eat out of your hand. He could also drastically change his body color depending on his mood. Was very passive too and got along with other tangs.

Gorgeous tang! Never seen one in a tank before. I think my 280G is too small based on the max size. How big of a tank did you keep it in?

I've got one currently 5-6" in my 300g. Real peaceful tang that gets along with everyone else. Has always been my 2nd favorite tang behind the Achilles.

He's sooo beautiful! I've always wished I had a tank big enough to keep one! Yours is colored up so nice!

Pinnatus batfish, they're beautiful as juvies. I know they get big and ugly as adults, but they're great algae eaters as well ( according to the research done on the adults). It's a fish I know few people will ever see in a home aquarium. But I love them, my dream fish.

Yellow line/ blue line cleaners. They are awesome fish always scouting around getting into rock holes and caves they are small but not being bothered by big boys, and is awesome when they decide that is time to setup a cleaning station my tang loves it.
