What brands do you use for dosing your reef tanks?

For alk/cal I use BRS and Arm & Hammer. For trace elements I use tropic Marin, and I also dose two little fishies Acropower.

How long have you been dosing the Arm & Hammer? I just started dosing A&H for Alk and food grade CaCl2 after dosing Red Sea. I figured it was more straight forward and cheaper.

I have been using it for a few years now, it’s the only alk I’ve used in my 3.5 year old tank (I just don’t remember at what point I started dosing). I do get my calcium chloride from BRS, but their prices went up significantly so I may also just look for food grade when I run out of the bag I have. I used to use prestone driveway heat for calcium, but it left a pink sludge in my dosing container that always made me a little nervous.

I'm using an anhydrous form of calcium chloride. So far so good with it, but I've only just started. After looking into using the de-icing versions, something didn't sit well and I went with food grade although it is a little more expensive, but less than BRS.

Do you recall how quickly the "sludge" was seen? Doesn't have to be exact, obviously, just curious if it was 1 week or 2 weeks into use or on the monthly scale.

It would settle out of solution within a few days, if that long. It never caused me any problems but using a chemical that is made at a factory that doesn’t care about keeping up with standards to make sure the product is food grade made me nervous also. That’s also one reason why I stopped using stump remover for nitrate dosing, when I needed it.

ESV two part.
It contains some magnesium and other trace minerals. I don’t dose kalkwasser, so the ph boost is a nice side effect.

Once my tank is more stable/established, may switch to all-for-reef.

Just wondering what brands everyone uses for dosing your corals for foundation elements and nutrition? I was considering Red Sea's products, but they are a bit pricier than some other brands out there. Any suggestions?

I’ve been using Tropic Marin All For Reef for a year now with good results. Coral growth and color have been exceptional. After a month of using NP Bacto-Balance, nitrates and phosphates have come down to acceptable levels, and the ratio has always improved. .

All 4 Reef and RS AB +. Changed to All 4 Reef a few weeks ago, which allowed me to remove my calcium reactor and all the required equipment as well as my CO2 scrubber. SO HAPPY!

I dose red sea alk,ca,MG, nopox, and all 4 trace. Tank is just now growing enough I will likely move to kalk for alk and ca, and dose red sea as a supplement.
