I’m currently looking to add more variety to my feedings because as they say variety is important in reef tanks.
Below I’ve attached pictures of what I feed and what I soak my food in, usually soak for 20 minutes and freeze the rest for the next day. At night I feed TDO soaked in vita-chem and growth. Every other night I feed arcti pods with ROE and at night I feed the tank with live pods when lights go out (for mandarin)
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

I feed LRS. I do not use any other additives - I sometimes use the chunky version - sometimes the more plant-based blend, etc etc. They are somewhat expensive - but are much less water IMO - than other frozen foods.

I'm not sure you need to add more 'variety':)
I find that the Hikari products are often mostly water.

That’s what I thought too. Most of their products just turn to water so I’m not sure if they’re getting the best nutrition possible which is why I started soaking mostly everything.
Some guy at my LFS told me reef frenzy was good but only to use it as a snack and not have your fish get used to one type of food

I definitely don’t think you need more variety lol you have way more than I, I just use mysis soaked in selcon and pellets / nori
Oh yeah nori too, my tang loves when I put a fresh sheet in there for him every other day.

I'm going to go out on a limb here... but - my guess is he's very very happy to have you spending a lot on supplements. I'm not meaning this to be offensive - but I think his idea about LRS is incorrect - because they have several 'mixed' diets.

PS - I also feed a small amount of flake food on occasion - perhaps once/week

I think so too, I’ve also stopped buying everything that’s not fish corals and frozen in BRS website because they save me a ton of money. My local fish stores Jack up the prices so much just because of the location I live in.

The only frozen food I feed right now is Marine Cuisine, although I do want to add some variety of frozen to the mix. Otherwise they get a little bit of Nori daily and 2 feedings of pellets in addition the frozen food is given 3 times a week.

you could just use LRS as a staple and ditch all the hikari products, he just wants you to buy more most likely. I like the ingredients list of it over hikari stuff as well less fillers

8oz flatpack is like 5x hikari packs (1.75 oz) so i think it will save you a lot. Thats a lot of live pods though, have you thought about starting a culture bucket or something?

i like pe mysis over hikari just because there is a lot of water in the hikari. The pe mysis i like to strain though as the water that it expels (probably due to having way more mysis) is a lot more cloudy

LRS reef renzy "nano" coupled with polyp labs polyp booster and reef roids/reef chilli/benepets/red sea AB+/phyto(i cycle through these weekly, and only use about once or twice during the week when i do use it..)

Will try it in my next trip to the store

I'm with the LRS crowd, never seen fish react more to frozen then that! When I'm out of LRS, it's hikari mysis and brine.
I’ve noticed less reaction to feeding specially with my midas blenny and the royal gramma, Everyone else is a happy fish with whatever I give them

I have all this stuff but usually only spot feed the reef chili and reefroids. I wanted to feed the benepets on water column but not sure how much of a spike that might give me

I have a sump where I culture them but my tang royal gramma and diamond goby also gobble up whatever pods they see free swimming or in glass/rock so the mandarin wouldn’t get as much food if I didn’t feed 3-4 bottles per week

I do like the PE, by local Petco doesn't carry it :(, thus Hikari it is! LRS is only sold at one store near me and it has weird hours, so I either drive over on my day off or wait for them to open at 3:30 p.m. after work.

.....and more food variety will get you to what goal?

I'm curious
To see if there’s something I’m not feeding that my fish will benefit from to have a better immune system or just better coloration. I wasn’t sure if there’s anything else I could feed my royal gramma as he’s very picky about what he eats now
