Water has been in it for 2 weeks today and I have used dr tims one and only plus the ammonia source and I also have API quick start if needed

I added ammonia initially as dr tims requires and I also have Api Quick start which I will dose.

Dr Tim’s can be very slow to start. Since test shows the presence if nitrite, things are happening but slowly.

Yepp. Nitrites shows that you are on your way albeit slowly. Dr tims one and only can take 4-6 weeks before the cycle gets going. And yeah no more ammonia that is plenty

list here five links from reef display cycles online (any forum) where Dr. Tims didnt work on day one, animals died, and you posted in the thread to time stamp it. we will see your verification steps in the thread to uncover proof of the stalled cycle, or just a casual post you were there. Curious how much death via bottle bac we’ve seen, in order to make commentary about how long dr Tims takes to carry the initial bioload people add in reefing startups at home.

first one to hit three links proven shown for a failed bottle bac cycle meeting that criteria I’ll paypal you $25. There’s a bounty on old cycling science now, let’s see them.

stalled cycles are something that forum reefers tell each other but never actually get seen. To find evidence of a stalled cycle (that can’t carry basic life we add, I’ve made no mention of api experiments and test loading of ammonia for a reason)

show where initial animals died, and you encountered that before this thread and worked to get some detail. Lemme see it

bounty goes down to only 2 examples required if it’s a tuned and calibrated seneye thread link, the believable tests.

I feel this bounty isn’t going to get paid. stalled cycles are someones absolute reliance on an api test, there’s fifty thousand + examples of that on file.

The direct fix for this cycle is a full water change. This leaves working bioslicks behind, and clean water, and that’s cycled. It’ll then carry a common initial bioload

why doesn’t that obviously dark api reading not concern? bc it can be changed out for new water eliminating the issue. That can just as easily be six unstated doses of reactive addition of Seachem prime coloring up that kit. Not saying it is, but scanning api threads always shows some element of ammonia concern, it’s on file. Are there searchable threads for dark green api readings in cycled tanks? I’ve seen them heres one.

if we just eliminate api from the factor, and do a full water change anywhere after day ten when using feed and bottle bac, and the tank carries life like a reef does-doesnt that mean it was never stalled? I do have available examples of that on file, we’ve never seen a bottle bac + fed reef display fail to carry life whenever it was added…day one…especially day 14.

what we never fail to see is api leading the charge.

here is a thread from a few years ago just like yours that I was in, we did the 100% water change, and the rest of the pages you can watch him turn it into a full reef. skipping disease preps was the costly part, it had nothing to do with the cycle. I wanted you to see that your cycle test is common, not rare, and there are more examples on file than this one of a simple full water change fixing things right up.

So in my previous thread, I had an ammonia issue that was out of hand. As suggested, I did a 100% WC and now i’m wondering when I should start adding fish back. If anyone has suggestions, let me know!
