Those blown up pics don't look like a lamprey or hagfish... those would be smooth right?
I was thinking that too but the pics I saw of the larval form are too eerily similar to rule it out.

Go rush to petco and grab a 10 gallon to setup a tank for it. Looks freaky but cool.
I thought the same thing! Glad I’m not the only one that likes freaky things like that!

You see so many threads with similar titles "What is this worm?!". You click expecting a bristleworm, maybe a spaghetti worm, sometimes a peanut worm...occasionally cerith snail eggs... This time I'm sorry I clicked but totally fascinated too. Can't wait to see the final ID. Love the hitchhiker forum!

Can you put it in a clear jar and get video of it from the sides and bottom?

Yeah I can pourit over into a clear container, good idea!

Where did the live rock come from?

The lfs that sold it didnt specify, on their webpage it says "from Bali, Indoneisa, Australia or Red sea" so I think it depends on the supplier.
I have had alot of hitchhikers and pests, since this thing has hidden for 6 months I guess there could be more suprises lurking. Right now I have a yellow Coris wrasse missing.
