Interesting Topic.

A Center Piece Fish, like a Center Piece Coral is a personal thing.

Although most people would consider Stunning Beauty as the key attribute, some folks prefer something else, like a Rare, Large or Odd fish.

I recently got a fish, that I never would have guessed would be to me, my Center Piece.

These are some of the Fish I have across two tanks, and each is Worthy of Attention.

Yet none I consider my Center Piece fish Anymore.

A Helfrichi Firefish....

He's tiny.....yet what makes him special is his grace, beauty, and how much he stands out.

He comes out Exactly the same time every day, and swims exactly in the Middle of my Tank for 2 hours....
Then he's gone.

When he's out, it's hard not to notice him. Even from across the room far away.

He's also not shy at all, which allows me observe him closely...as he swims gracefully around.

I actually had a pair, in QT, and the other one had a terrible accident, so makes this one even more special.

For sure one of my favorite saltwater fish!! Gorgeous

BEAUTIFUL!! I’ve always wanted one but can’t due to how large they get
Thanks.
Yep, that's a problem. He was only the size of a quarter when I got him. Now he's 14 to 15 inches long. He's in a 8'x3' tank, and I'm looking to upgrade to a 10'x4' soon. Even that's probably to small. At least he's not alone. He has a 12" girlfriend I rescued from a shop that was closing down.

It would have to be both my Achilles Tang and Moorish Idol. It took several attempts to get one of each through QT and I now get to enjoy them both in my main display. Absolutely spectacular!

My marine betta (not the best pic) is what I’d consider my “centerpiece” fish even though it hides most of the time

I have a beautiful MB. Had velvet wipe out the rest of my coral tank a couple of years ago, so I moved the MB (sole survivor) to a hospital tank and coppered it while my DT fallowed for 8 weeks. Since the hospital tank had no place for it to hide, he became very interactive with us and learned to be comfortable in the open. It's back in the DT now, and is out swimming all the time. My reefer buddies marvel that he never hides. It'll 'mooch' when it's time to eat, even nibbling on fingers.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to start a thread where people can post a pic of their fish that they consider their "Centerpiece" fish :)
Also (if you'd like to answer this question) why do you consider this fish to be your centerpiece fish?
I’m going to go way different in this one.. 10g nano tank and wasn’t intentional but he is definitely the start of the tank. Molts like crazy so always bright and vibrant color and he is very active and even comes out in the lighted areas often... not the best lighting or picture to showcase him. He’s a solid 3-1/2-4” in a nano and really shines on the bright oolight sand.
