My Engineer Gobies (Flotsam and Jetsam) are my tank stars. They are the only ones I’ve had since the beginning and they are so gorgeous. They’re great eaters and keep my sand clean with their constant rearranging. (Which can be ***** frustrating at times.) My Lavender Tang, Starfire, was my star until she died from what I assume was Velvet. I’ve had to reQT my fish a few times and the Engineers have consistently come out on top despite what they’ve been through.

Dont really have a centerpiece fish as all my fish are really similiar. However whenever people come over to see my fish they notice the royal gramma first, maybe because its about 3.5" long? Other than that they could care less about my tangs or dartfish or the engineer goby or my clowns....

I do however have a really cool tank coming pretty soon. Im making a NUVO 10, which will house some higher end corals (JB's, OG Bounce, Zoas) But the fish that is going in it will 180% be my centerpiece fish for all of my tanks.

I have a beautiful MB. Had velvet wipe out the rest of my coral tank a couple of years ago, so I moved the MB (sole survivor) to a hospital tank and coppered it while my DT fallowed for 8 weeks. Since the hospital tank had no place for it to hide, he became very interactive with us and learned to be comfortable in the open. It's back in the DT now, and is out swimming all the time. My reefer buddies marvel that he never hides. It'll 'mooch' when it's time to eat, even nibbling on fingers.
That’s amazing!! Mine is just now starting to become comfortable with his surroundings. I’ve always read that they’re very hardy fish, I’m glad yours survived that outbreak.

My marine betta (not the best pic) is what I’d consider my “centerpiece” fish even though it hides most of the time

My fine spot marine betta would be my centerpiece if he was ever out in the open. He does occasionally perch on the sandbed next to a rock in the back that has a decent view from side of the tank, so I can appreciate his beauty from time-to-time... but that's only a few times a week (at most). No one else would ever know he's in the tank.

So, my flame wrasse would be centerpiece currently.

Got plenty of em’ just like everyone else here and man all of them are pretty unique in their own way! But mine would have to be a supermale orange back!

heather my wife did. She did have to twist my arm and threaten death if we didnt bring it home.

It was buried in a bottom. Corner tank at our lfs. I think they said it had been there for a month before we bought it. Just really lucky find

Could’ve had a Gem tang, but...

Just depends on their behavior lol. My
Betta is always out it’s fairly large 5”, but have 3 tangs might be that to lol.

Had a helfrenchi firefish and yellow watchman gobie for awhile which where some of my favorites.

I like my Regal Angel the most, but most people are drawn to my male Bimac Anthias because he is super pink & bright under the blue radions.
