What is your favorite coral??

I was curious to see the different answers to this question. What is your absolute favorite coral? Please include a picture!

I’ll start with this Scoly I had for years in my old tank:

Great coral!! That blue/purple growth ring really stand out!

That is beautiful! so much going on, so many colors! What kind of price tag comes with this? Or do I not want to know :S

It's also the most expensive coral I've ever seen in person. Though I think it has come down in price some since I was looking at it. Back then, a frag was going for around $1k

I don’t have a favorite yet cause I’m still learning and haven’t kept a large variety of lps. The more experience I get though the more I prefer the larger lps.

This was my first sps that I added to my tank. It was starting to become a nice colony until Dinos did it in. I lost the Enchinata and a couple of others, but the Enchinata hurt bad because I started it from just a small inch frag and it was really starting to take off in growth before the Dinos. I will get another if I come across one.

@kschweer with a lot of vendors really spotlighting frags I feel like the “bigger” lps don’t get their proper shine. Lately I’ve only been reading and searching for Trachyphyllia, lobophyllia, acanthastrea bowerbanki, scolymia and acanthophyllia(would love to get one of these).

Agreed for sure. I also think that because they are mostly not “fraggable” they aren’t shown as often. They are sold once and not seen again if that makes sense. Where as sps are grown and fragged so they are in the forefront more often. Also a lot of them can be “run of the mill” or “bread and butter” with exceptional specimens fairly few and far between.

I really enjoy hammer, frog, and torch coral! Beautiful, not too difficult to keep, available in some neat colors, not over the top expensive, and provides movement!

You can get it for about $600-$700 now for a frag.. I love that piece.

Green star polyp, this stuff came on my live rock for my first saltwater aquarium so it was also my very first coral.

It's hard to pick just one. My first choice is a Goniopora/alveopora. I love the way they look and flow. A close second are acans micromussa lordhowensis. They come in so many colors and again I just like the way they look.
