What is your year-to-date $ loss?

No fish loss in the last year thank goodness, those are rough. I remember a few years back I had kalk in my ATL and woke up one night to the tunze alarm blaring. The pump got stuck in the on position and pumped a whole container of kalk into my tank. I found my favorite fish at the time, a pink streaked wrasse, on the floor as my tank was overflowing.

more recently, I came home from work today to all my sps going white and majority of zoanthids (my main focus) closed up. Luckily, recent high dollar purchases just seemed ticked off, not dying, and my sps is mostly common species, but still not a fun time to go through. If my torches and zoas make it through unscathed I will be able to cope with the losses of the sps easier.

Well last may i lost a huge queen angel that didnt make it through qt this year i lost a big frag of jf purple dragon but managed to save 2 small peices that are bouncing back just a week ago my homewrecker frag started stn but its still got 2 polyps tgat survived lol

Id say 300 or so. I lost a coppervand butterfly yesturday for 0 reason. I lost a discus freeh water fish. And a Long nose butterfly few months ago.. Im just not getting those fish anymore.

Other then that i havent lost anything else that i can think of. So far this year has been much better than last year.

I habe teo corals not doing so well.. a golden pavona who seems to hate low high and medium light and flow.. while my up other corals are fine.. The other coral is a rainbow millipora i got for $100 after trading in some ocotospawn for store credit. Its pinky nail sized. So thats part of the problem.

I hate when people frag corals so small it has no chance to recover if swapping tanks and it gets stressed out. Half it STNd from the base up... but the coral was weak anyway due to being in crappy lighting.. it didnt grow for 6 months in thst stores tabk and bad lighting.

I think going to my tabk shicked it hense the stn... but it so far seems to habe stopped and not gotten worse and the remaining flesh has deff got lot of zoozanthie growth and colored up where it should be.. Now if itss only statt to regrow over the stned part.

Its just too small to frag.. i tried fragging to healthy tissue and it made it worse. So im not goong to touch it now lol

I lost $25k+ in January from a house fire worth of high end corals mostly SPS and Zoas some of the rarest in the hobby and many to be lost forever. Many grown out as well.

Forever.. soo dramatic you make it sound like you had the last species in the world.. lol

With all the fish and coral I've sold I'd say I'm in the black.

Ahh i forgot about that.. Yea this year ive been making money on my corals for once.. Today i sold 20$ in corals.. although they were worth 70$ or so but i gabe him a deal because a friend. Yesturday i traded in 100$ in store credit. Sold 50$ in mushroom the othed day. And 3 weeks ago got another 220$ in store credit. And 80$ i sold a torch coral for.

So yea i guess ive made 470$ in corals in cash and store credit which i used to buy more corals i dont habe lol.

$800 in a year?!?! what was the biggest mistake???

Not using QT for coral. I had at least $1500 worth of zoa/paly combos in my tank and one frag came in with zoa pox. It took me a while to notice and by that time some had already melted away. Between summer and winter, doing multiple treatments, cutting deaf tissue away, it almost wiped out all of my zoas.
expensive mistake but lesson learned lol

How did you introduce the bacteria disease to your tank? And I'm assuming you treated them and that's why you said antibiotic resistance?
