I bought a tropical aqua one light bulb to use as the new tank light but realised it needed a premade cover and tank to go with it and I went everywhere just to find the cord that goes with it seperatly and failed miserably : (

I've managed to do a few things listed here.... overflowed rodi, dropped controller in top-off container. what I keep doing when things are doing good is cranking the intensity of my lights too high

When I set up my 30 g tank (8 years ago) i put in what i thought was a small mushroom..... that sucker is now over 9" and is the spawn of the devil! I keep trying to yank these suckers out and it seems that for every one i remove 5 new ones pop up and they are difficult to remove!!

My last big mistake with this hobby was probably getting a six-line wrasse... he is still in my tank, but he puts the wrasse in ha-wrasse. Definitely the most aggressive fish I have in the tank.

Quite a few years ago I dropped shipped a pup trailer of tanks from a well known tank manufacturer to a new store build about 6 hours from my base location. The customer signed for the shipment without inspection even though I told him not to sign anything or except the shipment until I arrived. Too late now. The tank manufacturer had just wrapped the acrylic tanks in plastic streach wrap with no foam or cardboard between the tanks and loaded the trailer. Needless to say there was lots of scratches and damage. I expected much more from an "experianced" national company and they stiffed both of us and so did the shipping company for the damage. My company paid to make the situation right and I started manufacturing and delivering our own tanks from then on.

Forgetting to plug my return pump back in after a late night water change. My heater is in my sump and it's winter here in Mass. Lost a few nice large SPS colonies. When I woke up my temp had dropped from 80 to 70.

My biggest mistake...I bought a zoa frag and didn't dip it about 3 weeks ago...should have dipped it, now I have a little nudibranch issue...thank goodness for salifert flatworm exit...

Not quite sure if it was a mistake, or maybe it's a pre mistake. But I would say adding a cinnamon clown and red coris wrasse. Adding those two, my tank was constantly dusty from the coris, and my fish are constantly harassed by the clown..
The part two was /is that about 3 weeks ago, I removed them. I had to remove all the rock, "and" stir the sand to get the coris out.. The result is that I lost 2 mini colonies, had a bunch, to most of my coral bleach, and because I stirred the sand, a diatom bloom in my sand.
The coral is recovering slowly, but I'm battling the diatom to this day. I am hoping the diatom will subside very soon..
