Whats that on my clowns tail?

The shipping and dips are very stressful for fish. Once they've settled in, they'll be happy and eating in no time.

I also wouldn't want to get the replacements shipped yet because once these 2 start eating, you'll have a clown war going on.

Don't worry or get frustrated, just keep up with the daily feeding attempts and be patient

Day 6 and they still didn’t eat. I tried to feed them with PE mysis, defrosted it in a cup, nothing when I add it to the water, they dont go crazy chase it or anything, my clown will be sitting still, he takes a bite out of it, and spit it like this food aint it lol. Tried some pellets to spit it out as well. I never in my life seen picky eaters for clowns.

O.K., the taking it in and spitting it out is an issue. PE Mysis are pretty large, what would happen if you diced some up and tried later today?

Actually I thought about that u might be right I might have to do that. In my head i thought they are 4 inches they can go at it haha.

Yeah just tried it, diced them up as much as I can. I also ordered some mass tick. Coming Friday. These fish are simple not eating. And they probably stopped eating at his factory, before he even shipped them to me. Dr reef, can tell me what he wants. But I don’t believe it. This is not my first rodeo with saltwater tanks, I had a 55 before, and I never had a single fish not eating with the same rodi unit. And same water.

This fish are 100% going to die, I never heard in my whole life clowns are picky eaters, my lfs gets them all the time, and they be stressed out, and they still go crazy for the food especially with the variety iv been feeding. I don’t know what he did to them medication wise, or whatever happened. He cant just convince me that they were eating before he shipped. This has been the worst experience of my life. For the money I paid. I am not going to destroy my tank with food anymore. If they are going to die let it be. Im tired of it.

No, those are diced up small enough, I just needed to rule out the food size issue. The one clown is pacing - that is a sign of stress, but I can't tell you from what.

I’m no expert but I look at these fish and they are fat and looking well. I would ‘t give up on them.

Have you tried target feeding with a long pipette ? I would try very small quantities, in small bites, put right in front of their faces.

Also, have you tried pellets ? Vitalis pellets are soft and some fish really like them.

I would also dim the lights and leave them alone. No hands in the tank, no maintenance. Try feeding the small amounts 3 times a day, at specific times so they come to expect it.

Some people go away for a week and don’t even feed their fish…

No - they would have recovered from any shipping stress by now. There is either some ongoing stressor in your tank that we cannot identify, or they have some disease that we cannot identify.

lol, okay. Then if they are going to die I cant stop it. Did my job as a responsible owner, did an icp test on my rodi, and my tank. And tested my ammonia, and nitrite. And im preparing water for water changes. Also ordered a hatchery for Brian shrimp eggs and food called mass stick. I have mp40s at 55%. That fast swimming at the top you seen could be the strong flow but im not an expert. I personally don’t see any reasons for them not to eat but yeah

Is it possible they are eating pods? I had a maroon that would not take any food for over three weeks. Even then it started with micro pellets and spitting them out. Never lost noticeable weight and always seemed fine. Over time it got to the point where it ate everything but still goes a few days without taking offered food if I see an explosion in pod population. At night sometimes I just see them not with host but instead cruising tank snicking pods.

No I agree it’s not typical. In 20 years I’ve had two fish pull the not seeing them eat for no reason bit. Both were clowns and either lived 12+ years or are still in my tank making my life hell.

That’s a good option - live baby brine works on some fish. However, clownfish shouldn’t need that added incentive.

Nothing new - they are still too active. I can't get a good view of their breathing rate, it seems a bit fast perhaps.
