Whats that on my clowns tail?

Nothing new - they are still too active. I can't get a good view of their breathing rate, it seems a bit fast perhaps.

Jay
Thank you jay for your updates. I spoke to dr reef, and hes going to send replacements if they dont eat within the coming weeks.

I tried to get closer to them to see if u can see anything unusual.

Good morning. One of my clowns ate pe mysis shrimp today.
Great news! It won't be long before the other one follows suit :)
I tried to feed this morning. Raw eggs. I had variety of food the bigger clown ate no morning. Some live worms. Etc. u can tell he’s getting used to eat again. The other clown he still zooming through the tank, stressed not eatin. I turned down my wave makers yesterday to 40%. I am not sure what’s it stressing it out. U can tell the clown has those moments where he comes down and pair up with the other clown and chill for few minutes. And they also sleep okay like any regular clowns at night. It’s just the morning time. They just get stressed. My ICP test came out good. My ph is good. My temp is good. Ammonia, nitrite 0. Nitrate after water change is 12.6. What else I should do? Am i doing something wrong here? I have plenty of caves and hiding space

Don't worry about the clown, it is still settling. Everything on your side is great, it just takes some time.

It's a big help that the other one is eating. It will start to help relax the clown and show it that what's in the water is food

I feel like I’m such a bad owner. Like idk what’s causing that stress. I tested my water, did a water change, added a metal absober for the metals they found in my water that wasn’t even at the dangerous level.. my 2 corals doing fantastic. What else do I need to do. My salinity is stable

I think this is one of those situations where all you can do is wait and see - a new tank is always stressful for a fish and sometimes they don’t eat as a result. There’s not much you can do about it - it’s up ti the fish. If you have any live foods, you can see if they are more willing to eat that.
Have you noticed any weight loss? At night have you ever seen them hunting copepods?

they both ate. One ate black worms, and the other one ate pellets. They are eating tiny amounts but they are eating. One still has the zoom in vibes like hes new not sure why cant figure it out

Great to hear! Hopefully they continue this way. Clowns are weird, so I wouldn’t be too worried about the fast swimming.

O.K., the taking it in and spitting it out is an issue. PE Mysis are pretty large, what would happen if you diced some up and tried later today?

Jay
Good news. The clowns are both eating. Expensive food but they are eating. Im going to submerge them slowly to frozen. Right now they are live black worms. Even the big clowns sometimes eat it and spit out bur he definitely eats but picky. Also the other clowns. Eats some high quality pellets. And they definitely both eat hatched brine shrimps.

The swimming across the tank behavior by that one clowns settle he did it way less than the other days i had him. And mostly is paired with the other clowns

I'm thinking this was a bit of fish poop, stuck to a scale. Overall, the fish looks really good.

Jay
Hey jay! I want to update everyone here. One of the clowns eating regular pellets, and the zooming through the tank stopped completely. Also the other clown esting brian shrimp, pe mysis, regular mysis frozen. That was a wild ride to get them adjusted.

Good. I sure can't explain why they did that, certainly not normal.

I’ve been following along. Looking at your videos they are stunning clown fish I wish you the best with them and jay will always keep you on track with his experience and knowledge.

They still are not 100%, but they look better. They are still breathing a bit fast and the smaller one is still swimming a bit oddly. Both look a bit "angular" so may be a little emaciated.

Three pages of comments here, so I can't go back and read them all, but did I mentioned that you should add aeration to the tank? Circulation itself doesn't break the surface tension of the water for good gas exchange. An air stone of skimmer is best.

One of my mp40S is pointed higher to the surface, and it's making a ripple at the surface.

It's safe to say this is going to be the last purchase from DR reef. I did not have any good experience with him. Clowns are the easiest fish to have. I shouldn't have suffered that process to get them back to health.
