With GHL doser it is easy to add an other pump to the unit. So if money is tight buy what you need.

Depends on the corals you have and the salt you use. Typically coral require supplements. You may not need them right away. As the tank ages and the coral grow into larger colonies, more nutrients will be absorbed. Otherwise you can get away with water changes. I was able to get away without dosing, with hardy low demanding coral for a year with weekly water changes. Then growth took off and out came the 2 part dosing.I see all this stuff about doseing an ask myself is this really necessary? Can I have a good thriving reef without all the additives? New to corals so just wondering.
That depends on the deficiency. We maintain our parameters and check to see if anything is dropping. For example Calcium and Alkalinity together make up calcium carbonate or the building block for stony coral. If you have stony coral or coralline algae or snails, chances are they are absorbing your calcium and alkalinity. In new systems we don't usually have the mass amounts of livestock using up resources. Water changes can help replenish the small amounts used. What would I look into doseing?
I have two Red Sea reefer (250 and the nano). The 250 I'm using an eshoppes doser and the nano has no doser. So what I want to do is switch the eshoppe doser to the nano tank and buy a new doser for the RedSea reefer 250. So the question is what is the best doser to buy? Also which one is the easiest to use?
I would take a kore 5th any day over a GHL. Magnetic stiring by far the most advanced doser on the maket.
I've delt with pacific sun before and they are hands down the best company I've ever worked with their support even blows ecotech marine out of the water.
