OG Armageddons. I had them for a couple years and they did well for me until a long power outage when I was out of state. This was my nicest zoa when club-zoa started out so I chose it. Now these and PPRPE are the two I wish I still had so the avatar has become kinda sentimental to me.

Mine is a phosphate molecule, actually shown as phosphoric acid without any hydrogens showing (PO4).

Not only is phosphate important to reefers, but in my real world life as a drug discovery scientist, two phosphate binding polymers (the drugs sevelamer hydrochloride (Renagel) and sevelamer carbonate (Renvela)) are among my best claims to fame. They are used to prevent hyperphosphatemia in dialysis patients and those with chronic kidney disease. Sanofi sold more than $1 billion worth last year.

Just like a reef tank, phosphate comes into a person with all foods. If the kidneys are not working to export the phosphate, it accumulates in the person, leading ultimately to many problems including premature death.

You probably never realized how like a reef tank your body was.

I generally only understand about every third word you post (probably the Martini thing), but the explanations and advice that you have proffered to many is well appreciated. Even getting the "every third word", I have learned a lot. Thanx!

This is a 1/2" local New York hermit crab. I took the picture while diving in the Long Island Sound where it is pitch black past about 25' deep where this was. I liked the picture because he has eyebrows just like me.

Mine is of me and a huge YFT I landed on a fishing trip to Panama...best fishing trip I've ever been on. If there are any other anglers on here, do yourself a favor and take a trip around late May to catch the YFT run. There are several good lodges around the Gulf of Chiriqui. Couple more pics from the trip...

An amphipod, I love all life. (Most better than people lol) I have many pets. Or friends is how I see it. Reefing is the only way I can have many life forms in a small space. I love them all. Right down to my worms and pods! I spend an hour or more every night spotlighting my display and fuge. So fascinating! So I wanted to represent an aspect of reefing that I feel is underappreciated.
