Currently my oldest are my 3 yellow tangs and 1 clownfish. (6 Years)
my last tank had my hippo and yellow tang for 10 years and then had to tear down tank and give fish away.

I wish Chromis would live for more than 1 year, Anyone else had luck with them? They are beautiful schooling fish I wish i could get 20 of them.

I only got serious with fish keeping in the past few years, so my oldest are just some 5-7 year old silver dollars.
My oldest reef fish is just a year old clown, hope to keep her alive for 50!

I'm new to saltwater so only 4 weeks so far for my Royal Gramma, however, a local lfs has a pair of clowns that will hit either 34 or 35 years this year in their possession. Being wild caught, the owner believes they are 1-2 years older.

I have a yellow tail damsel that is 10 years old. It has been thru a couple of tank changes and survived a lot.
The craziest thing it survived was the first tank change. I transferred the contents of everything over to the new tank and at the end of the day, the old tank just had a little nasty sludge left in the bottom with maybe a 1/4” of dark brown stinky water left in it. I moved that tank to my garage to clean it up later. The next day, I started to work on cleaning the tank up and when I stuck a cup in to start scooping out the sludge, the damsel suddenly flopped out of the sludge. I had forgotten about it. I grabbed the damsel and threw it in the new tank. It looked awful. It was almost completely white and barely able to swim.
A later it looked healthy and never missed a beat. That was about 8 years ago and it’s still going strong.

This pair of blue/greens is estimated to be around 13 or so. When I started back up in 2017, I took them back from my dad's tank. I knew he had them since at least 2009 since I dumped them in his tank after using them as a 'canary in a coal mine' during & post cycle. He was into the shoaling and I was starting a predator FOWLR. There was 5 of them back then, whittled down to 3 long term and lost the runt last year, now it's just a pair. They have been through bouts of ich, uronema and one of the pair has been down the overflow AND sucked into the hose when I was doing a water change. They can be a weird one, but I do love them. They are more than used to humans and will eat out of my hand.

I found out my fireclown that I thought was 40 is only 30. I had to look through many pages of old log book stuff.

I don't really remember when I got any fish. Buying some fish 30 or 40 years ago is not a memorable experience like getting married or driving. I have bought probably thousands of fish in my life and it was never a life shattering experience.
Now I know how old some of my fish are because if I had them before I moved here 4 yeaers ago, I know they are at least 4.
This guy I brought from my last house and I think I had him 3 or 4 years there so he is about 7. But I can't give an exact age. I don't keep records and don't remember to well either.
