Who has a "special" fish?

I have a one eyed Yellow Flanked Wrasse (from @Humblefish). He often sits in his cave home with his good eye towards the front of the tank looking for me at feeding time. He's a very excitable boy and has jumped out of the tank no less than 10 times in the 9 months I've had him during feeding time (the only time my screen tops are off). His eye loss hasn't hindered him as he's #2 in command in the tank behind a 6" Pink Margin.

Here he is peaking out of his cave on the right side of the picture.

Oh man! I bet him jumping had something to do with his eye loss? Do you notice it hindering him catching food at all? I have a bluesided (pretty much the same fish just without the yellow) who is a very close second as my favorite fish, after Harold of course:) He has not found his way out of my tank yet, and hopefully ever, but I do hear him splash at the top every once in a while. He is just now getting his manly colors and he is going to be a stunner! So now you have me worried and I have to go reinspect my top just to make sure for the 100th time he can't escape lol!

I feel like I should add my female clown as well. She isn't nearly as "special" as Harold, but one side of her jaw is larger then the other. It is almost impossible to get a front on pic of her, so this older one is the best I could find and it shows it only a little.

She has been this way since she was a tiny little thing. I assume she has had it since birth. It doesn't effect her eating at all, she is a pig!

a lot of my fish fall in the "special" category like "blue Bus Special" ......oh ...you mean .....;)

He only jumped on me one time, but it was memorable. I was feeding, so the screen tops were off and he jumped right into my hand!

Haha So he literally "jumped on" you lol. So how did he loose his eye then?

I think it happened because he was sleeping too close to a torch coral and getting stung at night by it's sweepers. By the time I got him out, his whole face was swollen and both eyes were infected. I managed to save the one eye by treating with antibiotics, but I guess the other eye was too far gone. As @saltyhog pointed out, it hasn't decreased his rambunctiousness one bit. :p He is a great wrasse, and I'm glad he went to such a good home. :)

Jeeze, what a stubborn guy! I can't even stand when the hubby sleeps too close to me because he is like a furnace lol. Meanwhile this wrasse is just fine with getting stinging slaps in the face all night! Now I feel like a sissy haha. Glad you were able to save his other eye, he is lucky to have had the fish Dr. around when it happened;)

Fish are STUBBORN about where they sleep. I helped a guy with a naso that was getting stung every night by a large euphyllia. He would watch at night with a flashlight as the sweepers nailed the fish all over; it looked terrible. He couldn't move the coral, the naso wouldn't stop going back to that same spot every night and he couldn't get the naso out... so it died. :(

Thankfully all but one of his adventures were pretty mundane with him back in the water within a few seconds. One time however he managed to jump BEHIND the tank and was directly in the middle of the 6' tank. I was panicking because I couldn't reach him. I had to go get a long handled cleaner to get him out and back in the tank!

Oh man! I was hoping for a happier ending lol! This thread is getting depressing! Quick, post something cute! Haha

Well I can't forget my favorite special guy. My son was born full term at only 4 lbs 10 oz. I swear we were at a different specialist every week for the first 6 months of his life. Now he is a huge, bossy toddler who keeps me running non stop:) This should help cheer up this thread ;)

We have yet to determine who or what his father is, and the way this boy loves water I can't rule anything out:) haha I am kidding, he looks just like his daddy! He gets his love of the water from me though;)

That last picture of him is SO CUTE!!!

Oh he's so cute!!!! I loved the little IUGR babies as they look so young, but do things the term babies do. SQUEE!

I had a seahorse that had something wrong with her swimbladder. She ate as much as the others, but she was a lot smaller because she had to work twice as hard to get around. She was an active little one, that wouldn't let it stop her.
