Who has some 'Asian' Acan's

Also, from the pic of the tank I sent with a few dozen colonies, there were some beautiful green ones. The pic doesn’t do it justice. They were selling for $80 USD each. Almost no colony looked the same. Not my pic but I went to check them out and wished I had gotten some pics from top.

Not the coolest Asian acan but this was sold as one. There seems to be different stripping to them. The mouth area also has some different stripping. I’ve seen more impressive ones for sure.

I just picked up this asian acan from cali corals. I thought I overbid and was going to ask if I could trade up for something different. They were 60.00 bucks. I didn't know what he meant by asian acan. I was thinking the vicinity of where is what from but just a name like "rainbow acan". The color to me are very pastel and not so great but I like the hot pink center! Is this what an asian is supposed to look like? Do they have bigger polyps? All my acans are kind of small polyp. They only get big right after I feed them!

These are all from @BSA Corals threads on here. Once again I have never seen a "Aussie Lord" labeled acan have these colors and patterns

I used to get a lot of "Asian" acans from BSA a few years back. I probably owned most of those pictured

They come in looking like that and they stay looking like. All the aussie rainbow ones I've ever had revert to orange-ish and lose the rainbow (I've heard LED's may contribute to this). Which is why you see a lot of bargain bin orange aussie acans at vendor frag sales.

The only rub - in my experience - with the Asian acans is that you have to feed them for them to keep their best colors.

It's a shame the "asian" acans don't come in more often. I just don't think they are that common in Indo. The first one I ever got was a classic candy cane colony in early 2000's. The exporters used to confuse them with favias. So I ordered about 10 favias and eventually an acan came in.

They are quite remarkably different and extremely pricey. I just added this collection to my Reefs, and I am blown away by their uniqueness and powerful color. Unlike any of the existing acans I have. I love them!

Fun fact: Asian "Acans" are actually not true Micromussa lordhowensis. Genetic data biographically limits M. lordhowensis to (presumably Eastern) Australia, with a small population in New Caledonia (NC shares many of Australia's coastal coral endemics). The Asian large-polyped Micromussa are likely an undescribed species.

Those look absolutely amazing !!!
I actually just snagged a few from TSA at their last sale. The last week or so,they have not been happy. Mouths have beem gaping open. Started about a week after I got them. Still semi-puffy,so I am helpful.
