Who's got paletta pink tip??

I guess I need a frag now...Thanks alot!

I find this to be a touchy coral. I killed one frag, and the second attempt seems to have moved into suspended animation...

Heres my pink tip sorry no filter. Its about 7 in tall and about 9in wide. Whats this colony worth

Highly underrated. One of my favorite classics when colored up correctly. So vibrant, glad I found a good piece for myself. Nearly bleached it with too high of light and sits pretty under <400 PAR.

One of my favorites.........I originally bought a frag back in 2005. I grew it into a 12" colony re-started with a 2" frag and grew it out again......I've split it a couple of times. Funny story on the name........Mike Paletta didn't have this coral in his tank for years. About 2-3 years ago my friend Dan gave him a frag of mine at one of our swaps.

When it's really doing well the pink can extend down the tips a good 1- 1.5"

This is the original frag from 2005. The frag will turn all green and look turdish while it's basing but all the new sprouts are when the pink starts to show, so if your frag looks ugly that's normal and I've seen it base in some tanks for months.............don't give up on it, it will reward you in time.

Is it under Metal Halides? Has nice rich color. How old is the system?

That pic is under T5 Coral+ and Blue+

I've had it under MH in the past and it looks just as good.

Ive had the same rock over 15 years of owning this coral but have moved the corals to different tanks over the years.......so the glass box changed and some equipment upgrades over the years.

All the pictures posted are from the system where it currently resides since 2014.

I love this coral and haven’t grown it yet. I almost picked it up from one of the sponsors here when I was visiting his place. It was one of the only acros they had which made my visit quick but when he tried to charge me 180 dollars for a frag with no color it really made my mind up for me... You could guess I didn’t buy it... sad part was I have known the owner for a decade.
So I am still in search of a decent piece of this coral, big e has some crazy nice color on the tips and I can’t wait to grow this one.
