So this isn’t my first tank but first time with this issue my tank keeps getting hotter no matter what I do. I pulled out all heaters and let it run for a day and it went from 75 to 79 in a 24 hr period the only way I’ve been able to cool it down is with ice ... my only thought left is could it be my lights I’m running a 15watt on my display tank(I plan on upgrading so it’s nothing fancy) and a 30wat on my sumps fugue . The over all system is a 30g tall with a 10g sump underneath I wouldn’t think a cooler would be needed for such a small system Any ideas would be helpful

Ambient temperature from your room will have a big impact on your tank , plus how high are your lights above the water ?, a cooler on the system would help .. where are you living ? Is it really warm .. I live in Holland which isn’t really a warm country and I have a cooler on my tank , which is needed!!

79 isn't bad, I would leave it alone. My tank is always hotter than that and has been for years.

I run all my tanks 78_79. Is there a vent blowing toward it??

Have you had any negative side effects that I should keep a look out for with it being in the warmer side

Im over In Fontana and my house is normally on the warmer side ... any idea of a smaller cooler system that would work on my setup

Move the lights up higher from the display if it's giving off heat. Are your return pumps running warm/hot? Power head motor in display? I would leave the heaters in and just lower the temp as your backup.

45 watts of lighting, assuming its LED, shouldn’t add much heat. I agree with the others about ambient room temp and other equipment in the stand. Try opening the doors of the stand for 48 hours to see if there is any change. Do you have a glass lid? Is there good ventilation in the hood? Is the tank in sunlight?

Try adding a simple desk fan blowing on the top of the display blowing right over the water.
The evaporation will help lower temps.
Just keep in mind your ato will go off a little more often

I added 2 on my 125 and was able to drop the temps almost 2 degrees

Yes glass lid .. not much for ventilation... and a little sun but no direct light ... I’m adding a fan to the bottom of the stand and letting it sit for a day .... 30w is led 15w is from a t5
