Will Microalgae Reactor help with pH swings at night.

I have the probe in but don’t really use it. I dont ever calibrate it either. It does trend up and down opposite with pH and the higher it gets some days the lower pH is. My guess is the more CO2 in the water the higher ORP???

Yeah, I'm not sure on exactly what its telling us other than a general explanation of oxidants in the water but it does seem to alert you of sudden change or possible pollutants.
I find it super valuable in keeping an eye on the stability of the tank. PH is not something that affects the ORP probe but could it be possible that something else could be affecting both your PH and ORP?

I explain it in mathematical detail in the article above. H+ impacts many ORP reactions and measured ORP in a clearly understood fashion. :)

Per the title, I am having a hard time with pH. Prefer not to setup a full refugium in my sump and wondering if a algae reactor will help keep pH up at night. Currently pH during the day hits about 8.1 and drops to 7.1 overnight. Anyone with experience using a reactor? Nutrient control is not my issue or goal, mainly pH. Tried windows, can’t keep open all the time.

I did try that in the past. Didn’t seem to make much difference. I use a scrubber and the media last more than a week. Getting to a point weather wise that I can keep the window open at least at night. The tank is located in my basement but I have a window immediately next to the tank. I may try that a few nights and see where that gets me.

Basement tanks suffer from higher co2 but I was also curious if you by any chance have a co2 injected planted tank as well? I ask just as a possible co2 leak? That is something I had troubles with once in the past. May not be the case. Just exploring all angles here.

So an update. I decided to grab 2 balls of Chaeto to place in my sump with a kessil h80 I had. Here are a few days of data. Not leaps and bounds but definite improvement so far.
