as the title says. What's the worse advice you've heard or been told about keeping corals and saltwater tanks in general.

Nope, decorator crabs won't bother your corals at all! About 8 Zoas later (heads) clipped tips of a finger leather, a dug out center of a gorgeous Acan, most of which ended up residing on his back! He was evicted.

Thats not necessarily bad advice. If the rock is cured and from a mature system, you could.

It's 50/50 the materials are good but everything dies without the bacteria needed in the water

The tiny amount of bacteria in the water will do diddly squat.

Don't worry if sump won't hold water in power outage. Use a one way valve. Not only flooded the house but put so much pressure on return pump blew that as well. Grrrrrr

That's why I put a drain pan with a drain under my sump one more flood and I'll be sleeping on the couch next to it
