WP 25's

Had to take one of the wp25's out of the 90. Way to much flow no matter what setting. Hammers and torches couldn't even stay open, and the anemone was waving around so much it closed. These things are nice, but I just couldn't get the flow I wanted with 2 of them. Kind of sucks because I was so pumped to have them, and the fact that I bought 2 brand new 2014 versions and no light sensors. Well at least I will have a spare now if one dies.

You should consider one of the new two pump controllers that fish street has.

are you using this Jebao Wp25? Is the sensor a separate chip that needs to be bought?

Yes I have a 25 the sensor is about the size of a eraser with 2 small wires that plugs in on the side of controller.

I have one wp-40 on my 90gal. I use else mode/speed3 during the day...I switch to W1/speed2 at night(more of a swaying rather than a turbulent movement as with else mode)...LOVE THIS POWERHEAD! I use the Jebao DC-6000 for my return...that thing is a monster too!!!

nice. not too costly as well. Is there a way to link them? or do i need to link them thru a special surge?

I've heard about a duo controller not sure how it works

Just Google "jebao twins linkage controller" I think it will be just what you need. Make sure you get the new power supply with it if you get it. BTW not sure where it would ship from, but I just ordered a DC 3000 from fs and received it in 2 days. Was shipped from NJ.

I would have gotten mine in 2 days from fish street. But it took a extra day because of the weather. Definitely like the performance of it.

O wow. That controller is sweet. I wonder if it would let me mix and match wp-25 and wp-40. Since my tank is a triangular shaped bow front. I have the wp-40 towards the wider part of my tank and the wp-25 in the narrow back of my tank. the less controllers the better, my tank is starting to look like a robot lol

I have one WP25 in my 65g. I have usually run it on W1 low or medium. If I crank it up on to high that thing can create a rocking wave big enough to have the water dropping bellow the upper trim line of the tank. Awesome little pump.

Sorry to highjack the thread but I have been looking into these pumps for my 22x22x22" rimless 46g cube. Do you guys feel 1 WP-25 should be ok or would it be overkill? Would I be better off with a WP-10?

lol i know this pump is powerful. Do you have sps? where do you place your pump so that it doesnt create a sand storm but gives good circulation?

Not highjacking at all..The more heads in this thread the better.. I actually have wp-25 on a 50 gal and to be honest i was having a really hard time trying to find a spot that would blow anything off the sockets lol I say two wp-10s over the wp-25.

I have a wp25 in my 50 gallon breeder at 75% locked. Have it positioned slightly upwards and towards the back. Does just fine.

No, no SPS...yet. I am still playing with placement, but right now it is on the same side as my corner overflow about half way up the tank and about half way up. I have it pointed pretty level and aimed at the front corner of the opposite glass. I have my returns pointing one down the back wall and the other towards the other front corner across the flow of the WP25.
