It looks awesome! In my next tank I definitely want to have a separate section for a controller. I’m not the most handy person but I really want to take a stab at building my own stand. Question about the trident though. How much water does it use for tests? My tank is very small so I’d be worried about water loss

Barely any! It’s that amazing!

If your tank is that small, I wouldn’t put a trident up to it, simple water change will be better, quicker, and faster I think.

Save my info, I can help with that stand when it’s time! Or really anything! Here for everyone! Can even text back and forth to help you!

That’s what I was thinking. I’m used to testing now so I’d probably set up the trident for the next tank. I’d definitely appreciate any info you could provide for the stand when the time comes! Hoping to buy a house in the summer and a new tank shortly after. There’s also a plan to buy one of those big shiny rocks for the ms so an upgrade might be delayed

50" plasma TV, about 20 years ago. I normally research everything until I'm blue in the face and I went from "I want a new TV" to bringing home a $7k TV in the same day. My current 50" TV was like a grand.
And I'm not exactly made of money, took me a long time to pay that off.

But you're looking for aquarium stuff. Nothing so far. I still very new to the salt water/reef tank hobby so while I may have bought things I don't need (or don't need yet), I don't think I've made any impulse purchases yet. It'll happen though. I found a LFS I really like. It won't be long before I spot something in some dark corner of the store that I have to have.
"Luckily" since I'm still cycling and getting everything up and running, I've thrown far too much money at the tank to be making impulse purchases.

I know, I see the price of corals and fish. I'm like 2 grand into this project with no livestock yet. I was lucky to already have a 40g breeder and stand, so at least that saved a few hundred dollars. And, I still 'need' (want) an AWC. Even with no live stock the ATO was a godsend. Going from 'meh, I can top it off tomorrow' to the water being at exactly the same level every time I check it was great. And, I already ran all the tubing into my basement below the tank, so it's just a matter of finding a pump and not impulsively spending a grand to put in an Apex/DOS. My LFS guy mentioned something about ecotech putting out a controller in the near future so I'm using that as my excuse to not buy an Apex. OTOH, as has been noted many times on the forum, the versa pumps are hard to come by. I have to check my LFS though. I just picked up the Tunze 3155 there and it's out of stock everywhere.

Never again will I set up a tank without an ATO. I’d consider it a must have for anyone. Recently moved to ATO with an optical sensor (albeit hesitantly) and I love it. AutoAqua is the brand. They make an AWC system and it’s about $200. Trouble is finding one though. Saw one pop up a few days ago in the forum for sale

Love mine had to by a cheap tablet because It was cheaper than $99 bucks for there display an has a bigger display screen. You won’t be disappointed if you pull the trigger.
