My man you can’t even keep gsp alive…probably not the time to be planning a very difficult coldwater tank with hard to find fish.

No, doesn't work well. Maybe for mild cooling but you need 55-60 degrees. If the tank is a typical glass one then it is also not insulated like 1/2 inch acrylic tank would be.

It would work if you put the tank INSIDE the fridge... like permanently.

Expect to pay A LOT of money for shipping cold water stock. At least last I looked Matsu used airports only so $100 cost to ship. Not sure if anything changed since though.

I’ve always thought a pest tank would be cool in a small aquarium. Just letting the aiptasia grow (also food for your filefish), some gorilla crabs, and a bunch of stuff that are neat, but otherwise annoying in a normal reef.
Aiptasia scrubbers use to be a thing! It might make its way back... Aptasia pre sock prefilter, to grab food and prolong filter sock life....

O.P. I would get a clown goby for a fish maybe something else too ,and maybe some sand and live rock and mushrooms one day.

Last I saw it hadn’t been doing too hot and since that thread was never updated, it’s hard to tell.
Your current tank is still struggling and early with fish that should not be in that size tank (or a reef tank at all), best to get that functioning properly before even thinking about anything new.

mine too but ive heard from eel keepers they are hard
The reason they are considered “hard” is because so many people just but one thinking it’s cool and just try feeding it flakes, only to watch it starve to death.
As long as one does even a bit of research, they will find that they require meaty foods. And hand feeding is a good sign that they are very easy to feed. Kinda simple, not as easy as a tetra, but not even close to difficult to feed if you know how.

no these people like only keep spiny eels and they say its one of the hardest to keep. it took me like 3 months to train mine to eat flake. and they only eat live worms at the start.

Flakes cannot be a staple. It will starve on that (they need high protein diets).
If they only keep spiny eels, of course they will find them to be hard…nothing to compare to…
