120 gallon slow build

It's hard to get a picture of it with out taking the hole lid off but it's a square in the back left corner. I need to get a airline tube valve to get the water level just right but with a Durso your always gonna have a little noise.

And I really don't know what it is lol I put up some pictures and a post on here but got a lot of mixed answers and haven't really been able to find it online. But some say there like a tube worm and there good and some say they don't matter. There's a couple not so good kinds but I don't think it's any of those. Most say it's a sign of a good live rock. So we're going to run with it lol
I need to get more of a clean up crew. Gonna get a anemone and a clown on Friday. Will hopefully be able to grab a couple snails and shrimp.

Right on! Can't wait to see the nem! Bta? Well nobody said "OMG get that thing out of your tank now! " so that's good. Lol. My new diamond goby is a hermit. He's supposed to sift the sand bed. Instead he made a burrow under a rock. The only sand I've seen him put in his mouth he spit out around his little fortress lol.

Lol my black and white damsel did the same thing. He dug out a area under a rock and has a little cave thing going on.

Not sure what kind of anemone yet hoping to get one with a clown already hosting. Still have to figure out how to get one in the tank without being stung.

Also now that the lid is on and I messed with it to make it fit the back part even better. I filled it yesterday morning and still do not have to top off tonight. So evaporation is way down and I had to turn my heaters down to like 60 on both to keep the temp right in the tank.

Cool that's gonna make life a little easier. I lose around two to two and a half gallons a day. Can't wait to get the ATO up and running. Hopefully your not sensitive to their stings. Surgical gloves just in case. Man I'm stoked your getting one next week. Tell me everything you do so I'll know how to handle it when I get one!

So i had a couple items for trade with my LFS and managed to get a anemone and a clown today!! Really need a bigger clean up crew but that is cheaper and can wait until Friday. Anemone has been a serious head ache I only just got him to stay put and I got him home around 4. Clown is doing great and it's awesome seeing this much life in the tank.

Also Lonny you can handle them by hand. They are a little sticky but I didn't feel any sort of sting. I fed it a krill and he devoured it lol.

Ahhhhhh!!!!! that's so cool brandon! What type of nem is it? Hopefully it hosts your clown soon, good looking fish I really like the pattern on his tale. So it moved around a lot? I read nems will do laps till they find the spot they like. Congrats man that is so awesome! Lots more pics please.

lol i was not actually but you only missed me by about 20 minutes had a heck of a time trying to get the anemone to find a spot he liked. i saved his life more than a couple times last night. i would place him somewhere in the tank and after 10 mins or so he would wiggle his way out and start blowing around the tank. he almost went into my overflow but i caught him just in time. how much flow do you have in your tank? my clown seems to be struggling with the flow rate in my tank but all other inhabitants have no trouble with it and some are smaller... the nems been in the same spot now sense last night so im hoping he wont decide to move again but if do have to drop my flow he might becuase the spot he is in gets less flow when i drop to one power head. and its a long tentical anemone, hard to tell in the pics but hes redish color with green tips and im really hoping the clown host him as well. seeing him eat yesterday was pretty cool though. the eat sorta like snakes, slowly sucking there prey in.

Sweet! I got pretty decent flow. My clowns look like they struggle to but I think it's just how they swim. That's crazy you had to babysit the nem. Good thing you did tho. Tanks looming awesome!

thanks! and yeah it must be because he looks like hes stuggling but when i turn my power heads off it doesnt really change. and seriously lol anemone babysitting is stressful. he still hasnt moved from the spot i finally got him to settle with lol and he ate today and opened up so thats a good sign. i mean my tank has to be better than the 1x1 he was in at the pet store. i was looking at a bubble coral but i only had $60 store credit and it was $100

My plan is to try to buy a coral or something once a week. But we'll see how it goes. Nothing seems to be cheap in this hobby. I am planning on picking out a coral this Saturday. I gotta say I'm extremely impressed with snails! They leave my rocks spotless. And they were horrible looking!

clean up crew will be next for me lol then coral. i kinda really want that bubble coral. but 100 is steep. might look into some dealers in my area they seem to have much better prices than the pet stores.

most likely i will be getting rid of my humbug damsel ;/ hes getting to aggresive over his area of the tank. wish i would of been told they are that aggresive

Tell me about it. My wife brought home our damsel and he bullies any new fish for a few days. I'd take him back but I don't think I could catch him. We named him turbo for a reason lol

thats my worry not being able to catch him lol hes got a spot in the back under a rock and nips at anyone passing buy. and its just my luck the anemone settled over there so the clown wont go near it -.-
