As for flow I have an 8g nano with 2 mp10's running at 60% reef crest plus my return pump. My sps love the flow the lps's I had in the tank didn't so they got moved to the sump

Thank you. After I removed my sand bed I really cranked up the flow to prevent detritus build up. There's a crazy amount of current in this tank and the corals seem to dig it.

I love the bare bottom tank, it's my first reef tank without sand and I love the fact that all my detritus ends up in my sump and I can go crazy with the flow without worrying about sand ending up all over.

It's almost 4 months old and coralline and montiporas are starting to cover the bottom which is pretty cool looking

Switched up my bulb combo recently and added in a 6500k. SPS are responding very well, and has a cool MH look which I always loved.

Re-scaped the bonsai reef. Things were getting a little too tight, lots of shading from the big Seriatopora and the Heteractis was completely out of view. Looks like a total restart, but hopefully will be a mini acro garden in the months to come.

Recent FTS. Slowly weeded out almost everything but acros. Been a goal of mine for years now to have a miniature acropra reef, and I really mean mini. Over 52 different acropora. Going to try and really keep my hands out, and not add any new corals for the next year or so. Just let the tank do its thing.

Thanks! The Angelica is looking good, slowly encrusting the plug. Holds a really nice color.. I will try to get a recent close-up of it up sometime soon.

Well.. just when things were really settling in. The tank saw its first major crash. Completely at fault. Had a cup of coins and other nasty stuff spill into the tank while I was working on it. Changed out 50% water immediately after, but wasn't enough. Not sure exactly what got into the water. Tank was completely white in the AM, looked like it snowed in there. Fortunately, most acros are still living.. Definitely will lose a few. Lost a blackcap basslet and all inverts as a result. Things seems pretty stable now and there is minimal PE starting to show.. so we'll hope for the best.

Man that sucks. I've done some bone headed things to my reef as well. Always takes forever to get back to where you were before the crash.

Ugh! That is a harsh one. Probably need to drag the sand and check all the nooks and crannies in the rock for metal. Glad to hear you are getting PE back already. Losing the inverts and fish is tough still.

Yeah, I was extremely lucky the cup fell in vertically so nothing fell out. It just sat it the tank for probably a half hour before I noticed. I guess enough time for some nasty stuff to get in the water.

It's awful how much we literally try to keep our tanks rocking and Takes only one millisecond to destroy a reef tank. Good luck with everything.
