600 Gallon Hawaiian Reef Addiction

Happy New Year everyone! I love the holidays! Its great to get an extra couple days to work on my system! I added my 50 gallon old tank to my system yesterday. I was going to add a refugium where I put this tank but I decided to add the tank because of my butterflies picking at all my coral. I will make It a soft coral tank and will add corals that they don't pick on. I am running one kessil A350 but will switch the lighting to two AL SOL Blues once I replace my old brackets. I am happy to say that my garage system is finally complete. There are still a few minor things to do but its finally time focus on installing the other display tank inside! Here are some updated pictures!

Seeing if it would be a good fit.

Wow! That's so awesome! Really looking forward to the continued progress. Thanks for the update!!

This is absolutely amazing! I am following along. Can't wait to see more! By the way, loved the dog!

Awesome! Really like the aquascape!

Are you making a serious bid to take over the 'god' job of cleaning all the oceans? that is some nice set up. I go home and look at my humble jumble of wires and just feel inadequate. Fabulous and obviously I have envy.

Absolutely perfect. I love it. One question... Car exhaust??? That can't be good at all.

Thank you! I don't believe the car exhaust will have any effect on the system. I always back in and the exhaust pipe faces the other wall. I never run the car in the garage without the garage door being open so I don't really see why it would be a problem.

Just because I'm clueless,
The blue bin you are using as a sump?
What is it called?
What are the measurements?
Looks stunning!

That is really cool, very unique. Way to think outside the box...following along for sure!!

very cool build. really dig how it is integrated into the house and you are able to put tanks wherever you wish with the command center in the garage. Very nice fish selection as well. Cant wait to see the frags grow out, keep it up!

Haha, If you weren't in the wholesale, aquaculture business, or had a very large system you probably wouldn't consider using one of these bins. I was fortunate enough to know someone who had access to some aquarium products that were lying around from a old company that went out of business. I know them as potato bins. The one I have was made by MACX Decade products and its dimensions are 48"X40"X30.5". I hope this was helpful and thanks for your nice comment!

Heres an update on the 100 gallon in wall tank. Hopefully it will be fully installed and running by next weekend!

On a sad note. I lost my male rhomboid overnight. He was doing fine until a few days ago when he wasn't able to keep himself upright. I don't know what caused it and no other fish are showing any signs of being sick. RIP little guy.

Looking good! Really liking your set ups!

Now that garage system is truly innovative and well planned out! I wish I could do that in my garage. I've had to resort to my michigan basement mancave!
