. so sorry I can’t afford a $120k Tesla.

There is more carbon emissions associated with production of Tesla and its batteries specifically that a gas burning car would emit less in its lifetime.

But hey, some people buy into the whole save environment with our own money idea. I don't judge, I use my money at the pump.

That and the fact they forget how the electricity they used to charge said Tesla is created /rolleseyes

Tax Carbon and jail all climate deniers;-)
No. That won't help. Tax fertility, lower the birth rate. At the current rate of population growth, reducing carbon emissions only allows us to stack a few billion more people on the planet. If climate change is man made, and I believe it is, go straight to the source of the problem. Stop the carbon emission nonsense.

If old men want to sit around and complain about how the world has gone to hell with the current generation by only choosing the narratives that illustrate their points, then why cannot scientists and nature people want to hold on to the ocean as it is today? Neither are all that reasonable as the only constant is change. The more reasonable approach is that old men get dumber when gathered into groups, deniers are still ignorant since they never seek any opinions other than their own and that new reefs will form/migrate into cooler waters probably like they have for millenia, but we just did not know then (there was a coral reef covering most of Utah at one point). However, it is still OK to listen to old men since they might have something useful to say every once in a while, and also listed to scientists for the same reason... seeking out a different opinion is part of enlightenment.

I do not know that slight temp shifts don't affect corals. I know the opposite. Turn your tank up to 83-84 and let it sit there for a year or two. A few few swings up that high during the summer might not hurt much, but constant high temps will ruin your reef. Do it and see.
You sound very sour! Stop taking ur hate out against white men

So many opinions...………..so few facts.

Facts seem to cloud the discussion.

Facts:;):)

The Earth is 4.5 billion years old. Cyanobacteria created an oxygen rich atmosphere... roughly 2.7-3.5 billion years ago. Since then there have been multiple periods of ice free poles and at least one period of a completely frozen planet and everything in between.

Max time man has been keeping historical atmospheric data... 150yrs.
Max time man can track atmospheric data from glaciers... 110,000ish years.

Sounds like you have a final solution.

Climate change is not made up. I hate that it’s a political issue. I’m not into politics but I wish that people would wake up.

Unfortunately it is political and there is money involved. Both to pockets and to taxes. We see this in California every day. People cannot, or do not, remove their personal brassiness and we are not ready to have adult conversations about it. That is just the fact and this thread is a prime example. People say denier when they have a different opinion or view. Easier to call a name than talk rationally. Even then usually you won't convince the other which gets back to personal bias.

Here is California for you. We continue to raise alarms about our water supply and future droughts yet we continue, year over year, let trillions (yes folks, that is trillion with a T) of rainfall flow into the ocean. Even though our snow pack this year is 161% as measured earlier this week we will see politicians and others spread the word to ration water, prepare for droughts, climate change impact, etc. Pretty ironic yeah? But here is where it gets better because us older folks (just using a term someone used earlier) know the history of water and California. We know we had to build reservoirs to collect the rain water back in the day. We planned or had at the time X population. Well, X population grew to Y and Z over the years and we produced more and more crops but failed to build more reservoirs to collect the water to meet the growing needs. Not only did we not build anymore we elected to not increase any of the existing damns (Shasta comes to mind being the last one denied). Math is fun, right? Population grows, grow more food, weather is cyclical, good years, bad years, everything grows but our storage does not. Not only that no projects to ferry more of the wasted runoff to Southern California or say to even Nevada where they need it in Vegas...

So many fronts on this topic. Populations grow. Third world countries need to eat. Eating takes priority over regulations. Not all countries have the same regulations. Tourism equals dollars and that will trump your reefs. Clean energy is great but take Solar the panels are not efficient. Electric cars are nice but you need to replace / dispose of the batteries and charge the car. Electricity to your home is still coming from coal, hydro, or other means. Nuclear power is the cleanest power on earth but people don't want it and the regulations are killing it. There are the fuel rods but that is still manageable but no one agrees so let us just ignore that. List goes on and on.

Here is my take and the TL;DR version. Everyone should try and do their part. We should recycle what we can. Watch our house for wasted energy sources. Use water responsibly. If home owner or small business can afford it, install solar (continue those tax breaks to owner, not company leasing). Companies that can should encourage the use of remote workers to reduce traffic. If we as a hobbyist and general population try to do these basic things than that alone will help our dear Mother Earth.

That is how I see it.

Listen guys i do think that climate change is real and is a issue. But the same people that say that people who deny climate change is denying science are the same hypocrites that say its possible to change biologically from a man to a woman or woman to a man. Wich is also anti science. Im not anti gay or antu bisexual and if a person wants to look like and be called a girl or a boy i have no problem with that. The fact is that they still have the same chromosones that they were born with and they CANNOT change that. facts are facts and like ben schapiro sais "facts dont care about your feelings " mic drop

Try telling people 100% solar powered here.

I quote: A typical dumper truck consumes between 50,000 and 100,000 liters of diesel per year, depending on its application, and it can emit between ~131 and 262 tonnes of CO2.

Suppose global climate change was true, then why is the Red Sea growing and GBR bleaching?

Is this a serious question? You may as well ask why there is life on earth and not on Venus. They are completely different environments. The Red Sea is obviously much smaller and shallower than the entire Pacific Ocean so I believe it is a reasonable assumption that is it warmer. It has likely been warmer for thousands if not millions of years. Also, we know there are endemic species of both corals and fish in both bodies of water that have lived for eons in those respective environments. If you took a bunch of Purple Tangs and put them in the GBR, would they survive and thrive? Maybe, but also maybe not.

All I see in this thread is deflection. Nobody wants to answer questions but they sure are quick to point fingers.

Your mine just needs more carbon credits. I don't mind if my copper price rises 10%

So in the 70's there was this thing called the Ozone hole. Maybe read up on that a bit. I believe instead of being called a denier you got called a blind sheep.

How is that Ozone hole doing today?

Sounds like you have a final solution.
Gee I hope that wasn't directed at me. I believe in educating people to have less children. I believe that is the most efficient and humane way to direct our resources toward this problem. I don't know how old you are, but I have seen the world's population more than double in my lifetime. At the same time, per capita carbon emissions have plummeted. And yet, overall carbon emissions continue to rise. If you want to talk about a final solution think about this. If we stopped using fossil fuels today. Right now. Billions of people would die from starvation.

There's other facts that scientists tend not to bring up, know about or don't include in their findings.
How the core is cooling and the magnetic field is weakening.
How the inner planets orbit around the sun is effected by the gas giants. Like when Jupiter & Saturn are close to inline with one another.

There's so many other factors beyond the big scary "C" word.
