Air bubbles created by algae?

make sure the tank can breath, I don't know your set up but I wouldn't put a garbage bag "over your tank". Around the tank covering all the glass or acrylic is what I would do as I assume you have some king of hood on top of the tank...

After the 3 days should I thoroughly clean the sump in the back? Should I soak the pump, media basket, and thermo in like vinegar?

Uhh this is what it looks like!

I am running an air pump in the sump while its covered. Is that enough?

I have a 200lb mastiff that likes to shake it up in my living room, it helps keep the hair out.

Do you guys think I should dose .05ML H202 once a day during this blackout?

Here is what worked for me in a used Biocube I recently bought. I was doing a bunch of water changes but was told that nutrients in water changes actually feed it so I stopped for a while. You still have to suck up the algae using just a smallish tube to get a lot of suction power. Those large plastic tube vacuums won't pull it off. Use a sock to filter the water back into a clean container and dump the water back into the tank. A media bag with GFO and Ignite carbon from bulkreefsupply and the fliter media from acurel for both phosphate and nitrate reduction(cut small pieces to fit in the sump area). Light reduction increasing back to normal time and intensity over the following couple of weeks. Gone within a week and hasn't come back the in 3 months since.

Here is my filter floss after day 1 of the blackout. It does look like the normal amount I was getting when the lights were on. I put extra floss up there in anticipation that day 2 will provide more.

The 3rd day complete is when you will see all the garbage in the system. The first couple of days does not do all the killing, and its all in the water column, if your not running a skimmer, I'd recommend doing a big ol water change when its done. To remove the majority of the dead algae.

RM do you think 50% wc is enough? Should I dose all of the equipment in h202 after the blackout? (pump, thermo, media basket)
