also @evolved because we should all tag him with any and all Wrasse pics. And since I tagged you, you may remember I wanted this Wrasse and the Equisitus and you've since smartly vetoed my next two choices. Would C rubrimaginatus make a good third wrasse?

Thanks, I've had the same thing, missed a few randomly that either just didn't show or I missed them.

One nuance with the forum software is that if you get a notification about someone posting to a thread, you won't get another notification about posts to that thread until you view the thread again.

For instance:
"Johnny" posts to "DIY XYZ" thread and you get a notification about it. Then "Adam" posts to the thread, and you won't get a notification. You won't get any more notification about posts to that thread until you actually go view the thread again.

Thanks for the explains evolved, I used to admin Xenforo forums myself so I'm a bit familiar with how the alert system works. I do appreciate you explaining it in detail. I was merely suggesting often times I get up and see I have like 25 alerts, so I click on the alert thing and open it in it's own tab and try to make sure I get to the threads that I want to revisit. Every now and then though it feels like I either just miss one or just don't get one. Have had this same issue in the past with Xenforo What I'd kill for would be a scrolling Nav bar

Safe to say my doser is working properly, at least that channel. I have it setup to dose my Alk at 2, 10 and 1600. This is a graph of my pH probe which I know needs to be calibrated before I care about the numbers, but the trends themselves show the pH spikes I I have been seeing from dosing. Today I'll get a baseline of all my stats after my 2:30 dose of Mg and make sure everything is tracking properly.

So other than not having a display unit for my Apex everything seems to be going well. I checked my Alk today and it was at 8.42, which is a little higher than I want, so I cut my dosing amounts in half and I'll check again mid week. Honestly if I can keep it between 8 and 8.5 I'll be really happy, but it's come up from 7.6 to 8.4 in the last week so I was overshooting just a little bit. I know there is a ton of debate about dKH levels and Triton dosing. I checked their manual again just to be sure and they recommend anywhere from 7-9. Closer to 7 it seems to drag my pH down too far where as closer to 8 seems to keep it in what I feel is an ideal range.

Everybody has come out of hiding and is swimming around the tank nicely. The wrasse is camera shy, but ironically when I walk up to the tank otherwise he doesn't spook. The male and female Anthias are much more colorful then I expected them to be. Sadly they don't tend to hang together very often. The male is massive though as he's about the same size as my powder blue and yellow tang. I'm definitely going to give some things some time to settle out. I'll probably hold off on adding the other two wrasses that I want until I can at least pull one of these Uglies out of this tank and move them to the 32 which is moving along.

Somehow all my corals who have been doing well continue to do so. I'm getting really good PE on everything for the most part and the coloration of what I currently have is consistent with the colors things had when they arrived. Most everything is still frag size though and will be for a little while, so we'll see how everything turns out as it grows and matures. I decided to place an order with a vendor over the weekend and will have some new things here this week. Something about a brush, I don't really know though.

Welcome aboard @Lilmatty5dimes (man that's a mouth full, how about we go with matty?).

Yeah my clown have been paired for 3.5 years now. One came from LA and the other straight from CultivatedReef, but I'd have to check to remember which one came from where. They haven't spawned since they lost their last home, but I'm expecting that to start back up again shortly now that they have a home back.

In regards to the Jaebo doser, I'm not really sure I can give a fair review of it. I picked it up on the cheap over 2 years ago thinking I was going to use it to dose a vinegar/vodka mix, but decided to go a different direction and it ended up sitting in a box in my closet. I can say the first head seems relatively useless and I wouldn't trust it at all hence I didn't use it. The second and third heads ran 100ml 3 times and never had issues, then were both calibrated. The fourth head ran 100ml 4 times because it had some hiccups half way through the first run after I was pretty sure I had all the air out of the lines.

As a result I decided to run my Alk on head 2, Ca on head three and Mag on head 4, so if there were any imbalances they came from the less important Mag channel. I'll be checking the calibration after 1 week to see if things are holding and I can give a better review then, but so far, those are my current experiences with it and as much as I can honestly tell you.

This was exactly how mine failed @Robin Haselden . It's kind of a comforting fail to be honest. I'm much happier with a failure due to shaft slipping then a failed stuck on. That said obviously no failure would be ideal

I'll have to look around and see if I have a spare head lying around since as you mentioned I may have gotten a new one when I bought it

The Anthias has a flesh wound and I have a treatment thread up in the disease forum. I blame you for trying to spread the black death to my tank to. Had you never jumped into this thread, this would have never happened. @Rakie get him outta here, I don't want to lose all my fish too.

I never had a fish jump in all my years of the hobby, fresh or salt. I get a clown, which is Daniels favorite, and guess who goes carpet surfing? He told me "I think i'm more upset about that fish loss than you are", which is very evidencey.

I always thought a frag tank could make a great display. This is one of the only shallow tanks I've seen. I like it. I'm writing a paper, so it's too late to read... Is that starboard on the bottom or big tiles?
