Amoo's Pasture 60 Gallon Shallow Reef

I've had no aggression out of my two tangs. Even sitting in a 40B QT setup. The Caribbean is palm sized and the lieutenant is just bigger than my female ocellaris, so nether is grown. My LFS told me they'd take them on store credit because I have nowhere to put them right now, and won't have a tank they can grow out in.

That's a shame, sorry you can't keep them till you get the 90 up dude. The minute they hit that store water all your work will be lost :(

Yea, they have a massive UV on their fish system... but it won't get it all. I'm going to advertise them on the local reef club FB before I take them up there. Hopefully someone takes them. Must have 160g+ before I'll let them go.

Don't forget they make a 6' 125G as well which I think would be appropriate also.

Yep, that's why I'm his frag bank, that way he can get the coral back after he kills em. He overripened his JF Burning Banana, it's still all brown and sad. That's why he never mentioned that one :D

But I only have a little room to tease there.. I had dinos for 6 months -_-

Must keep up on offerings to the reef gods.
Not TRUE!! It's happy again. Nice and yellow with red polyps. LOL

Btw, I'm also YOUR frag bank.

With this line, you broke @Rakie's heart

He's a big boy, he can suck it up and deal with it. If not he can always cry on your shoulder while you're bringing him more corals to rehab :P

Love the clowns and their host.:) Mags are a bit of a rarity in the U.K. and when you do see them they are never purples sadly. I'd love one at some stage. Your clowns have a similar pattern to mine. These 2 have been with me almost 7 years.

You mean when I bring him more corals he's drooling over.

Btw, that was a very nice pack from BC. Adam always does great!

WELCOME TO THE PASTURE @ShaunRobinson

They are rare here in the US as well. Diver's Den put one up last night, first one they have had up since I got mine AND it had the green tips, but had the tan disc which is not the droid I am looking for. I passed and it was gone about 2 minutes later. They are tricky to get settled, but once you get it settled I find them to be quite hardy. I added a new power head a few weeks ago and I noticed his foot started to bubble like he was thinking about moving because he was unhappy. I moved the powerhead to a different spot and everything flattened out again. I've said before I don't believe they just "randomly" walk around at some point. They will show you signs.

Adam did great, the one coral I saw on his site I wanted most that I was hoping he would include in the pack he did and that was the Forest Fire Digi. The deep blue Tenuis is another one of my favorites and that got included as well. I'm very excited he managed to find some pieces with some reds and yellows as they are always hard to come by.

Outside of at some point needing to splurge on a nice Stag I think I have most of the coral in my tank I'm going to have. Would like to add a few more LPS to the bottom, but the top just needs to grow in, once these come off the rack and get placed.

Yeah I'm okay with people who like to keep non-corals. Their poor life choices don't affect me :D

Tonight has been a complete and total exercise in frustration.

For starters, I'm still getting jerked around by Neptune about these mismatching pH probes. I've calibrated the dumb things 3 times in the last 48 hours, on separate ports, on the same port...etc and they're still off from one another, by at least .1 usually .12. Now Neptune wants to call on Monday so we can setup a phone/remote session so we can calibrate them together. I flat out told the rep, "look I've calibrated these things 3 times in 2 days and I'm out of calibration solution at this point". You'd think they could just send me a new probe and we could be done with this whole ordeal as the third one will tell me which one of the two I have is bad, but noooooooooooo. So far, not so great for Neptune's customer service. Either way we're off to a pretty miserable start with the "new Apex" which I should be thrilled about after spending a grand on.

Next let's talk about RO/DI. Adam @Battlecorals gave me some great ideas for setting up a degas system and as a thank you, I placed the order I did with him, because of the money it will save me in DI resin. I think that was only fair. So I get all my new filters and resin in, everything I need, get everything rerouted, running 2 membranes in series like I always have turn the thing on and BOTH the seals on the sediment containers start leaking.

No big deal, I'll just pull the whole unit down again, take it outside and torque those things down with the wrench.

Hook things back up, still leaking. No big deal, I'll just pull the whole thing down again, take it outside, pull out both gaskets, put some lithium grease on both of them, put them back in, summon my inner Thor and snug those things up with the wrench and take it back inside and hook it back up.

LKUADSFLK:JASDHFKJ:LASDHFLKJSADHFLK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have 3 new o-rings on order as well as 3 "backup" canisters. In the meantime the unit is just hanging over a spare tank, dripping water into it as I HAVE to make some RO/DI tonight as my topoff has been empty for about 30 hours now.

So outside of wanting to chuck both my Apex and my Spectrapure RODI unit out the window, everything is going just great tonight. I'm going to get a stiff drink...

Oh yeah this isn't counting any of the times I hooked the unit back up and forgot to hook up the main inlet, or the dirty water discharge....etc.

sigh

Amoo,
So happy that I've found your build and love your long and shallow reef.

You've got some deep a great post.
Right now I'm gassed out for the night... ;Dead

But if you don't mind, I'd like to come back, catch up and tag along.

Freddie
