Another JBJ 45 build!

I'm trying to avoid buying their bubble diffuser, I don't think it'll fit in the back of my tank.

Does the bubble diffuser sit above the waterline, or is it completely submerged, or somewhere in between?

Thanks for the reply!
It took a little maneuvering but the sponge fits below the water line , I have the jbj 30 gallon rl and my evaporation is heavy duty and I don't have an ATO yet so every 2 or 3 days I have to add about a gallon of water. When the water gets low my skimmer makes a slurping noise.o_O Otherwise it's great. I had the tunze 9004 and returned it because of the bubbles. Not sure if this will help you, nice thread btw :D

So I got some selcon last week and I've been using it in the quarantine. This morning I used it in the display for the first time. After feeding the fish I re read the instructions and realized it says .5ml, not 5 ml! (Been putting 1ml in the 10 gallon QT). So it became Saturday morning water change time. Parameters afterward:
NH3: 0
NO2: 0
NO3: 1ppm
CA++: 460ppm
ALK: 9.0dKH
PH: 8.0
Salinity: 35ppt

Also noticed what I believe are digitate hydroids, everywhere!

I haven't noticed them, but I've been busy for the last couple days and haven't spent as much time in front of it. Also idk how fast they grow, or if the sudden blast of nutrients made them come out, I know they're filter feeders.

New guy is loving life. Stage 2 of the uglies seems to be over. GHA is mostly dark green/brown and receding. Is there another stage? I never got GHA in my 10gallon, diatoms followed by nothing. Unless you count vermetid snails.

Looking really good.

Hi Doob I got one of those guys, I think my corals aren't doing to well but everything else is looking good. Did you see my video

Hi Doob
I got a yellow watchman Goby as well. Everything is doing fine here have you seen my YouTube video

Hi Doob
I got a yellow watchman goby as well. My tank is doing well although I'm not sure of my frags and my anemone keeps moving around
Have you seen my YouTube video?

Hi bob. Yeah I saw your video, I commented on one of your threads but you must not have seen it. Are you still using your QT? You sure filled that up quick.

I really want to pick up some more soft coral, hammer coral would be nice. I've been thinking about a couple clowns too. Work is slow though so money is short right now.

Anemones do better in a more mature tank, so I'm holding off on that too.

Oh did you subscribe I hope. The anemone is holding on. I think he found his spot. The frags I agree were probably a bit early but I got a good deal for them.
I paid 40.00 for both clowns. True they are oscellaris but we like them. The Chromis are really small. So is the goby and Blenny each about an inch. Yes I'm still using the QT but I cleaned it out after the clowns were moved into the DT and I'm not quite sure it's cycled fully yet although it does have live rock in it along with a skimmer and a HOB filter

What's wrong with oscellaris? My lfs had a pair of maroon clowns in on Friday, some knowledgable r2r members talked me out of that though. I may get a pair of Picasso percs one day. Your corals should be fine, it's the anemone I was unsure of. Also, hopefully this is not the case, but I expect the chromis will reduce their numbers down to 1 eventually. They do bigger in groups of 5 or more, sure, but in that size tank I think they'll think they have to compete too much. Hopefully I'm wrong. I had 2 in my 10 gallon, they got along great for about a month. Then one morning one was finless and gone. [emoji17]

What kind of light are you using?

Nothing is wrong with the oscellaris we love them. The Chromis are tagging all in a school. They follow me around the tank ( so do the clowns) so they seem Ok but your right I have lost Chromis before. But we shall see. I actually got the one Chromis accidentally when the LFS was giving me snail and crabs and it got in the bag, that's why I got the others. You know the tank looks so empty still even with the 8 running around in the open and the Blenny and goby at the bottom, I got a better media basket from intanks and it's working great holds so much more than the OEM ones. Skimmer is kicking butt. I'm going to add another basket to hold cheato and copepods. I have a Current-USA marine LED right now. It's the old version so supposedly not good enough for corals although the guy I talked to at Worldwide told me to keep the frags mid level and the light I have ( he said he knew it) should be good as well as my flow from the MP10's. I'm thinking either two Kessils 160's or the 360. Another is SBreeflights but waiting for them to come out with a Apex ready light
Let's stay in touch were both right about right along at the same level so I would like to see us how we progress. Ok with you

Cool can we mark instead of watching a thread watch a person? I come on here and if I don't have a question I only look at a page or two of new posts and I forget sometimes about looking at the JBJ thread

I meant instead of watching a thread can we watch a person? So if I post something you will see it and if you post something then I will see it. Sorry wrong word

Click on the person profile and you can follow from there.
Just curious you said work was slow, what do you do? A roofer
