Anyone else throw money away recently?

I recently purchased a number of pieces from some website that advertises here, almost nothing that came looks like what they advertised, one piece came damaged and died within a day. There are only 3 pieces that I like the rest I couldn't care less about.
This might be the last time I buy from a website.
I have had great luck buying from reefers here and I will continue to buy from them but I think I'm done with websites/businesses.
I recently started to map out local shops, I think that road trips are in my immediate future.

U going to. RAP?

Ender 3 is definitely finicky. I actually like mine, but I have thrown a lot of money at it while figuring how to get it to work consistently. TBH, most of the issue were user error. There quite a learning curve to it for me.

I’m debating which day.
Last year I went on Sunday and was able to score a few sweet deals, vendors really don't want to lug all those corals home!!!

I bought the new Hanna magnesium checker.

I think that counts
I am so debating this tester, I have been following all the threads I see but the general consensus is that they test high. I am a bit disappointed, was so excited about getting this last tester.

Was just about to buy that tester, too. Thanks. I don’t really test for Mg very much anyway.

Yeah bought a really nice blue dot jawfish 3 weeks ago.
he/she has disappeared!

I have no clue where it is….

I bought it too and it’s a sensitive test but I referenced it w my Red Sea and it was close so…

I got a couple of peppermint shrimp a couple months ago. I have yet to see them in the tank....I've noticed a few aiptasia gone, so maybe. The last batch I had would come out right at lights out to pick at my hammer.

I almost threw away a bunch of money this past week or so.

Some of my coral haven't been looking their best recently. Not as in dying off, just not as plump and thriving as I'm use to. I thought maybe it was vanadium(maybe is still part of it) levels being high.

2 days ago the oddest thing happened. Suddenly my inkbird alarm went off, saying my tank was over 82 degrees. I'm freaking out, can't figure out why, and then suddenly it goes back down to normal. Did it again yesterday, I can't figure out what is going on.

I figured I would give it a good cleaning before buying a new inkbird, assuming it was going bad.

Turns out, my temperature probe wasn't where I thought I put it. The temperature probe I thought was the inkbird probe was actually a temperature probe for my ph probe. My inkbird temperture probe was in the section with the pipes from the overflow, not easy to see.

It had come out of the water barely. The temperature in the cabinet itself was apparently around 77-78 degrees. So it was kicking the heater on, but not low enough to set off the low temp alarm. The high temp alarm was going off because it apparently got just wet enough from the actual water to give a degree, but then it would quickly go back to what I thought were normal.

Moved the probe to where I thought it was, and made sure it was under water. Tank temp was 83 degrees.

That could have gone much worse very easily.
I came home the other night and the temp alarm was going off. Of course my wife doesn't bother to text me just closes the door to the fish room and leaves it for me hours later. Tank was down a few degrees. Turns out my chaeto was growing so thick it was interfering with the temp probe and not allowing the heating element to kick on. Easy fix and no harm done.

Guess I won't install a flood alarm sensor now.

You have to put some music on. They come out and dance at night.

Is It possible to flip the rock and shake it? Lol
I recently bought a six line wrasse for $20 and a domino damsel. Both juvi. Maybe 1/2" big...but my toadfish deff ate the wrasse. Idk about the domino. MIA though.
D
No way with the rocks. To much established coral overlap.
