My biggest problem is I’m colorblind and most test kits turn blue, green or red all colors I can’t tell the difference with? I have to bring my water to local fish store to get it checked. Not rich to buy a trident and I did buy a ICP test kit and have to ship out a sample to see where I’m at with other chemicals
I believe Hanna testers are digital (I am not rich enough to buy them so I won’t bother drooling over them when I know I have to prioritize a backup power supply) and I think I saw they were on sale @Bulk Reef Supply for 15% off.
Life unfortunately is not fair on all of us. I hope you don’t take offence but have you thought of doing a thread on here so that members could help you and others with a similar condition to have the colour translated to numbers? I wouldn’t mind to be a regular contributor to the thread and am sure others wouldn’t mind also, we are on the most friendly reef forum worldwide and if we could make life easier to a fellow reefer would be great.
Worst-case I kinda like the idea of us being able to help identify test kit outcomes. Other option might not be as good an option as it is for most, as what you're describing sounds like TWO types of colorblindness in an individual. The most common being red-green, and if that was your only issue there are glasses that greatly enhance contrast between red and green, enough to where you can easily distinguish the two. EnChroma is the first company that comes to mind. However, you're stating you have blue/yellow colorblindness as well (which they also make lenses for but I haven't seen any that work for both types at once) so I'm not sure how well these solutions would work for you but I would imagine an effective solution would seriously amp up your enjoyment of your tank/corals in addition to enabling you to test at least somewhat effectively yourself (keep in mind our hobby test kits are more so a finger in the wind as opposed to giving us exact results (is what I'm looking for present or not, or is this value higher or lower than it was the last time I tested is more important than getting a precise value a lot of times).

I have 3 tanks all tied into one sump. A 220 gallon a 90 gallon and a 120 gallon I had high nutrient levels. .64 phosphate and 50-75 nitrates. Decided to lower them and did so somewhat successfully got them all the way down to .09 p04 and 25 and boom my 220 became a refugium when I had no algea before. Then I had bought a regal angel and a raccoon butterfly. I had them in my 20 gallon qt following week my dad got a powder blue my mom got a naso and I got a 1 in sailfin and a small mag foxface. The 2 in the 20 gallon made it out awesome and are now happy in the 180 fowlr but after 2 weeks the powder blue died 5 days later the naso died. To try to save the other two I decided to move them to the 20 a few hrs after moving the others to the 180 and next day the sailfin died the foxface is still hanging in there but I have no idea why the others died 0 ammonia and never showed any spots or signs of illness and eating all the way up till the day before they died. The sailfin was out swimming and looked great and 3 hrs later when my dad got home it was dead. I've always struggled with keeping fish through the qt process and finally had a small win with the two just to have the others die.
Yes, I don't recommend a Foxface unless you're willing to sacrifice a couple LPS/softies once it runs out of algae to much on. I lost a duncan back in the day to one. Tangs are much better behaved.
It's not eating the leathers, loves rubbing up to them, sleep or nap in them.....hah
