Freshwater dip with a very weak iodine treatment. While they are in the dip scrub the shells with a toothbrush. I dont see any harm getting the CUC now. You have gone through the wringer hang tough

Copper will kill inverts. Most people just leave their CUC/rock/corals in the fallow tank (your 450 DT) and feed as normal. The ich/velvet will die without a fish host, they cannot survive on CUC.
That’s what I have now: corals, snails and 3 urchins. I’m planning to get more CUC now while I still can during the fallow period. I don’t mind resetting the clock by a few days.

Thanks for everyone’s help!

This. Cuc is hard to treat either source them from a good system, or cross fingers. Locally I get them from Tongs with good success, I trust their cuc system. I figure Seaside is ok as well?

Ok - while we wait, I finally got a chance to replace the tubing on the Kamoer peristaltic pump..for cheap! I’ve ordered the silicone tubing by the foot & molykote — this should last me at least a year / two!

This will be used to dose vodka for NO3 control while Phosphate-RX (manually dosed as needed) to take care of PO4. I like simple automations!

I’ve had good luck with Seaside as well. Will stock up tomorrow - just too busy lately.

I’m a sucker for urchins vs snails / they do a great job but just need to glue frags down.

Snails are no better, lol. I had some turbos in the 120g that were golf ball sized and slightly larger, they were bulldozers to frags.

QT Update - all the big fish are now in the 175g “QT” tank. Copper is at 1.58. Since we have 4 wrasses in there, I’ve read that I need to go slow to get to 2? At the end of next week, I’ll do a 50g WC to get down to 1.75 and stay there.

Black Molly: I’ve been reading to use these guys to test the DT. So the plan is drop 3-4 of them in the sump to check if parasites are still present when I’m done with fallow.

What do you guys think?

molly are a great tester ,sorry can't help with the copper levels, but sounds right ? @Slocke ? @JoJosReef ?

What wrasses? Some are a bit sensitive, although we have people on the forum that say they put them in copperpower no problem.

Do you have ich or velvet? Or both? If ich, you could take the 4 wrasses out into a separate smaller tank and do hyposalinity at 1.009sg. Think it's 30 days. Meant to be very tolerable if you drop salinity slowly and keep the salinity bang on at 1.009sg. Doesn't work for velvet though. If anything, I read it makes velvet worse as you raise salinity back up.

Had all symptoms of velvet: can’t count those white dots, heavy breathing, swim against the flow, and fish died within 2-3 days!

2 hog fish and 2 Coris wrasses — they showed no issues and survived the outbreak. However, they may be carriers hence I treat them all.

Catch you up to speed: I did hypo on the DT - not effective since I had velvet. Therefore, my son and I tore down the 450g and moved all 12 fish to the 175g since it was already salted. It took us 12hrs on a Saturday! I wanted to simply poured Clorox and started over.

Anyway, all fish are ok and eating so that’s good news. Even the hippo, which was covered in white spots everywhere, came out and ate today. I’m just concerned about the wrasses — thinking 1.75 is good enough and should kill ich/velvet in 30d. Going to 2-2.5 may be too rough for them and not necessary?

it may be worth using copper for some fish and hypo for others. Medics would be a lot better at answering this than me.
