Birdnest coralHELP!!!

Okay,I saw like 13.7 or something above lol. I had bad batch of Red Sea Coral Pro salt and it murdered my whole pico slap full of acro's once.

Could potentially be a bad batch of salt too. Could have heavy metals in it from the manufacturing process.

No, lol I have the Hanna alk tester and it tests in ppm.

Ok so to give an update.
calcium 415 PPM
ALK 139 PPM
MAG 1200
I couldn’t do phosphate because they sent me the wrong reagent
Salinity 1.025
Temp 78.1
Ph ranges from 7.5-8 throughout the day.

Ok..i think it's your ph..way too low. Your mag is a bit low too. Raise mag, it might help stabilize your alk in turn ph

Personally, id raise your calcium to about 460 ish, since your alk is so low. If you have lower alk, you can raise cal/mag to compensate. Right now, imo, you're starving your corals for growth, at the least, it's probably not stable.

We don't even know what your no3 and phos are doing.

That would happen until they take up all the calcium etc you had. Then would probably die...

Like I said before you'll probably want to raise your calcium and mag.
You'll want to test and see if you need to dose after that to hold it stable

Seams like it’s mostly sps thats effected .
Try aiming for a alk within acceptable range . But the number isn’t the biggest concern .
Sps especially love stability
Fluctuations only cause issues .

After all this talk about stability and my parameters I decided to buy/set up the Neptune
Apex
Trident
Dos
Ddr.
hope this helps, yes I know a bit overkill for a 20g lol but in the near future I plan to upgrade my tank.

Well for now I only filled one container with magnesium. I have calcium and alk in a bottle still. I was told from LFS to start off with mag. And monitor alk and cal then we can go from there. I couldn’t spend more on another pump and ddr

To simplify for you, these do best at upper third to get good lighting and flow. Not blasting but good flow. You have some levels in need of adjustment.
target values are:

temp 77-79
Salinity 1.025
Ph. 8.2
Ammonia < .03
Nitrate < .04
Phosphate < .04
Mag 1300
Alk. 8-9
Ca. 440
