Blue Acro WYSIWYG Rip

I'm thankful he's now admitted I got wronged and he's making it up by giving me an elegance coral I wanted for cost plus a free frag. I believe that to be fair. He did buy it of eBay.

So you did get the right one...but it was in bad shape.

Nope still got the wrong one... Only I had posted the wrong wrong photo but the second wrong is right but still the wrong right... sorry to put the wrong wrong one but in the end he'll make things right.

It's nice that he admitted that he made a mistake, hopefully the new corals comes in good shape, post pictures.

I really appreciate everyones concern! This board is such a great group!! Side note... anyone have experience with the elegance coral?

good things that u learn your lesson if im dealing with the local i would look at the coral before i accept it. if it does not look like the one that i agree then it no good if there a sign of flesh receding from the bottom but does not show it in the pics i wouldnt accept it at all. i wouldnt deal with people who buy corals off ebay and sell it. it promote too much problems i rather buy it from someone who grew em in there tank and lfs is a different story

He's agreed that buying off eBay is a very bad idea. I'm willing to give him another shot but I'll defiantly be very careful prior to taking the elegance home. As a general rule i try to make these sorts of mistakes only once. I've been to the guys home and he's got a pretty nice setup. He's got a wife and kids. I believe there was no malice here. He really just wants to sell coral and seems quite remorseful about the acro. On my end I should have made my displeasure more pronounced. I'll share the ongoing transaction through its finality. I've read up on elegance coral and have heard what you mentioned concerning the attachment to the skeleton. Ive also made these concerns known to him and he's shared some postings to help me out with data gathering as well. I'm learning that there seems to have been incidents with them consuming fellow tank mates although there seems no consensus on this being the fault of poor/inadequate feeding and/or health of those animals made into elegant elegance meals.

Just feed, feed, feed. They have voracious appetites. Beautiful corals.

I feed it whatever I'm feeding the fish. Mysis, NL Pellets, particularly loves small bits of table shrimp.

Do you have one currently? Love to see a photo! What are u feeding?

I don't feed mine that often, I had a huge one that my angel fish destroyed (10x6)...now I have a medium size one maybe 4x4 fully open. Stick it in the sand where it will not rub against rocks. Here is a photo of it open a little

By "not often"...? Ever had any issues with it consuming snails or in intended food?

So you don't need to feed it individually with a dropper or anything special? I've got around 50+ snail/crab cleaning force. I'm a bit worried about losing them. Should I be?

By not often I mean once a week MAX, more like once every other week to every three weeks. Never had any issues of it eating anything. My last huge one ate a cleaner shrimp that tried to steal its food once, but that is it. My clowns were hosting in the big one.

When I do feed it, I target feed it with a turkey baster or sometimes place a piece of chopped shrimp in its fingers with my eel feeding tongs. Then I fight off the cleaner shrimp and fish for the minute or so it takes to eat what I gave it.

Are you talking about an Elegance Coral or an anemone? Your picture looks like an anemone.

Nevermind...he's just puffy...lol. I feed mine about once or twice a week, but it still gets every morsel of additional food that it can reach.

Connie, that's a beautiful coral, I feel like buying one today from the LFS, Also Liquid360 your elegance is also nice love those fat tentacles.

I'm definitely talking about an elegance coral, they are one of my favorite corals. It's just not opening up all of the way right now. Here are some pics of my old one. You can see the angelfish that did it in lingering in a couple of the photos, it should have clicked to me that almost all of the photos of that elegance the angel was in the background towards the end. For a size estimate, that clownfish in the pics is over 3 inches.
